Last month, Marvel Comics revealed a new line of "Timeless" painted variant covers by esteemed artist Alex Ross, with 14 of these covers set to arrive alongside Marvel titles going on sale in September. This month, the House of Ideas has called its own bet, with 14 additional "Timeless" variants now slated for October, raising the grand total to 28.

The Marvel titles receiving variants by Ross this October include Amazing Spider-Man #50 (featuring Spider-Man), Daredevil #23 (featuring Daredevil), Excalibur #13 (featuring Nightcrawler), Fantastic Four #25 (featuring Black Bolt), Fantastic Four: Antithesis #3 (featuring Medusa), Hellions #5 (featuring Jean Grey), Marauders #13 (featuring Iceman), New Mutants #13 (featuring Colossus), Shang-Chi #2 (featuring Shang-Chi), Spider-Woman #5 (featuring Spider-Woman), Thor #8 (featuring Thor), Wolverine #6 (featuring Wolverine), X-Force #13 (Featuring Beast) and X-Men #13 (featuring Cyclops).

"Nobody else embodies the term Timeless quite as well as Alex does," Marvel Comics Executive Editor Tom Brevoort said while speaking with ComicBook.com last month. "His work makes people relate to these fantastical characters in an entirely new way -- they become plausible and real without giving up their larger-than-life qualities in the process. He's also just about the hardest-working guy in the business -- his output, given its quality, is truly staggering."

Notably, October's batch of "Timeless" variants does not feature any repeated characters from September's batch. The covers going on sale in September feature such other Marvel favorites as the original members of the Fantastic Four, the Silver Surfer, She-Hulk, Iron Man, Angel, Ghost Rider, Storm, Hulk and Scarlet Witch (though the character featured on the cover of September's Empyre Fallout: Fantastic Four #1 has yet to be revealed).

Award-winning artist Ross has gained recognition for his detailed depictions of superheroes through such renowned books as Marvel Comics' Marvels and DC Comics' Kingdom Come, with some of his other major DC credits being Justice and The World's Greatest Super-Heroes. Ross still regularly creates new covers for Marvel, many of which are for new titles carrying on the Marvels brand.
