The team-up was virtually inevitable: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the world's most famous soda brand. Marvel and Coca-Cola have teamed for a Super Bowl commercial, and have sent Avengeres-adorned Coke cans to news outlets to promote it -- one such package arrived at the CBR offices:

The cans feature stylized portraits of Ant-Man, Falcon, Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America -- it's worth noting that Hulk is not slated to appear in "Captain America: Civil War," the next Marvel Studios film scheduled for release. Along with the cans, a note was enclosed with the date of the Super Bowl -- this Sunday, Feb. 7 -- and the words, "The big game is just the beginning. Follow @CocaCola to watch the story unfold..."

Marvel and Coca-Cola's Super Bowl spot will be a 60-second commercial airing during the second quarter, as reported by Adweek. No future details on the contents of the commercial have yet been publicly released.

Coca-Cola's Marvel ad isn't the only big spot to watch out for this Sunday -- Disney has promised a new "Jungle Book" trailer, and it's been reported Paramount will promote "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows." Super Bowl 50, contested between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, starts at 3:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, Feb. 7.
