Marvel's newest batch of X-Men characters are found in the upcoming Children of the Atom book. The series' writer, Vita Ayala, recently gave more insight into their and Bernard Chang's new uncanny characters.

In the trailer, Vita described their new characters, listing their hobbies. They said, "one of them has a Tik Tok, one of them has a fitness Insta, one of them is basically the moderator for the mutants subreddit. One of them is a cosplayer and the other one makes mutant music."

Vita explained that their inspiration for creating these new characters came from imagining how Zoomers would react to the X-Men world. They said, "For so long it's like the larger media in the X-Men universe is like 'mutants are bad' and 'the X-Men are evil because they're mutants' and blah blah blah and I'm like 'what would Zoomers think of that? They wouldn't. They'd be like 'No! They're great!"

Assistant Editor, Chris Robinson teased that these new characters would appear in other books as well, saying, "How the X-Men react to these characters who are their sidekicks is a major part of the story that is gonna have all sorts of ripples through their titles and ours."

Written by Vita Ayala and illustrated by Bernard Chang, Children of the Atom #1 is scheduled to go on sale this April from Marvel Comics.
