As an immortal with the ability to teleport, release paralyzing energy, disguise his appearance, and manipulate minds, Azazel is an undoubtedly powerful character. As the leader of the Neyaphem, Azazel is an old mutant who resembles a demon and should never be taken lightly.
However, there are still other characters in the Marvel Universe who are more powerful than Azazel, some of which fans might not presume are tougher than the mutant. Let's deep dive into who those characters are and see why they are more powerful than Azazel.
10 Night Thrasher
Night Thrasher is not a weakling by any means, but his lack of an overt superpower makes him seem less able than he actually is. His hand-to-hand combat is high-class, he is extremely flexible and acrobatic, and his DNA is described as being "advanced" in some way.
Night Thrasher's mind is impenetrable and he holds his own against those who seem stronger than him (such as The Punisher). In a fight, he would overpower Azazel (and not just because Azazel would be unable to manipulate Night Thrasher's mind).
9 Mysterio
Mysterio, a character that audiences are still learning about, is an enemy of Spider-Man who should never be underestimated. Mysterio, or Quentin Beck, is a strong hand-to-hand combatant, and an expert special effects artist, magician, and illusionist.
At one point, Mysterio even managed to manipulate Spider-Man into thinking he was losing his mind. Though it looks like Mysterio relies on weapons and his smarts, he can disarm his opponents mentally and physically with the level of skill that he has.
8 Typhoid Mary
Typhoid Mary, or Bloody Mary, has some powers of levitation (such as moving small weapons a short distance) and she is in peak physical condition. If that wasn't enough, she can use the power of suggestion against an adversary, causing them to do things that she planted in their mind to do.
Typhoid Mary can make things combust spontaneously and cause people who have penetrable minds to go to sleep. She is incredibly dangerous to anyone she comes across (especially as Bloody Mary) and her martial arts skills are nothing to scoff at. She is certainly more powerful than Azazel.
7 Hawkeye
Hawkeye (Clint Barton) is a powerful individual with no superpowers, but that has never stopped him. His bow and arrow, which are extremely heavy and pack a lot of force and power, are almost impossible for others to wield.
Hawkeye is in peak physical condition and is known as an expert marksman, swordsman, hand-to-hand combatant, and martial artist. Hawkeye has a lot of confidence, a national affinity to fighting (as he has been training since his youth), and is physically stronger than Azazel.
6 Deadpool
Cursed with life (as an immortal of sorts, as he can keep healing himself after fights), Deadpool is a strong swordsman, an expert athlete, swordsman, and marksman. He has many weapons in his arsenal, including katanas, grenades, and guns.
Although his performance and healing factor are impacted by how he's doing mentally, Deadpool is still a strong fighter and has proven himself as such on multiple occasions. Deadpool is certainly stronger than Azazel (especially when he's at his best mentally).
5 Kingpin
Kingpin is a supervillain without powers, but he is anything but powerless. His body is massive and exceptionally stronger than the average human. Kingpin's body mass may appear to be enlarged, however, he is all muscle, akin to that of a massive Olympic weightlifter.
Kingpin throws humans across the room like they are playthings, and he is a pro at hand-to-hand combat. He loves to 'bear hug' his opponents, crushing them in the process. It is clear that Kingpin's exceptional skills and strength make him stronger than Azazel.
4 Batroc The Leaper
Batroc the Leaper doesn't seem like much, in the grand scheme of supervillains, since he has no supernatural powers. However, not only is he in top-of-the-line physical condition, but he is also skilled at various kinds of martial arts.
Batroc is fearless and has no problem doing anything that he's hired to do (or turning on anyone who hired him). It's clear that he is often underestimated in the world of villains, but Batroc is certainly an expert at fighting and planning an attack, and he is at his peak physically. He is stronger than Azazel in that respect.
3 Whiplash
Whiplash wears a costume that gives him the ability to deflect bullets, vault himself in the air, and has various weapons that keep him active and at an advantage in a fight.
Without his tool and suit, Whiplash is still a strong athlete with a lot of knowledge of how to win in a fight against opponents who seem stronger than him. Whiplash's strength is definitely in his smarts and his ingenuity.
2 Nico Minoru
Nico Minoru's powers are interesting, as they require her to draw blood to wield her weapons and be in full force. Nico's ancient staff requires her to cut herself or be on her period to be effective, but she can perform some magic without the use of the Staff of One.
Nico's powers and her spellcasting are very strong, and she can dominate her opponents with her magic and her skills.

Black Widow is seen as a powerless character who relies on her weapons in a fight, but she is so much more than that. Not only is her body resistant to aging, disease, and illness (thanks to biotechnology), but she also heals at a fast rate.
Black Widow's strength, agility, and skills can be likened to an Olympian, and she is exceptionally intelligent. Her physical strength, weaponry, and smarts make her stronger than Azazel.
