The residents of the Marvel Universe come in all shapes and sizes. From characters who are smaller than a molecule to planet-size powerhouses. While characters like Ant-Man or Galactus might be famous for their size, some of Marvel's lesser known characters are both at the top and bottom of Marvel's height chart.

However, When Marvel released an official height chart of its characters in 2018, the list was surprisingly incomplete. Now, CBR is taking a closer look at how tall (and small) the size chart said the residents of the Marvel Universe were, and who should actually be at the top and bottom of that list, taking into account characters' average heights.

WHO IS MARVEL'S SMALLEST CHARACTER?

Ant-Man and the Wasp

According to Marvel's official chart, the smallest characters in the Marvel Universe are Scott Lang, Ant-Man, and the Wasps, Janet and Nadia van Dyne. While all of those heroes are average heights at full size, they can use Pym Particles to shrink down well under 1 cm. When Scott and Janet were in the Quantum Realm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they were so microscopically small that they couldn't be measured by conventional means.

In the comic book Marvel Universe, the residents of the Microverse, the Quantum Realm's comics equivalent, would be the smallest beings alive. Even in the regular Marvel Universe, they're still pretty small. One of those microscopic heroes is Bug, a former member of the Micronauts. Even in the regular Marvel Universe, he's still only about 6 inches tall, just a little bit taller than Throg, the frog Thor.

WHO IS MARVEL'S TALLEST CHARACTER?

Giant-Man Avengers Academy

As Marvel's chart indicates, Marvel's first Giant-Man, Hank Pym, can grow as high as 60 feet tall. In comics, however, he can grow far larger than that. On occasions, he's grown hundreds of feet tall and has even grown larger enough to speak with the personification of abstract concepts like Eternity. However, Pym only grows that large on rare occasions. Like Scott Lang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he usually grows to less than 100 feet tall, and even spending an extended period of time at that height can be harmful to him.

While mythological beings like Surtur and Ymir are both around 1000 feet tall, the Celestials are even taller than them. While some, like Nezar the Calculator, stand at a relatively small 2000 feet, the most consistently tall character in the Marvel Universe is Exitar the Execution, a Celestial who usually stands at an unfathomable 20,000 feet.
