Late in 2019, Disney+ will debut and deliver some great original content to fans on top of their already impressive slate of theatrical movies. On top of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, there will be plenty of original Disney shows based in those worlds that will premiere on the new streaming service.

For Marvel, this will replace the shows that were already an immense success on Netflix, all of which likely will end up canceled in 2019 before Disney+ launches. That opens up a lot of possibilities for original Marvel content to hit Disney+ and here are 10 Marvel characters who are likely to get a Disney+ original series.

10. VISION AND SCARLET WITCH

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

When the word broke that Disney+ was bringing Marvel television shows to their streaming service, the most interesting part was that they were going to use characters from the movies. The first character mentioned was the Scarlet Witch, with Elizabeth Olsen, reprising her role from the Avengers movies in her own solo tale.

This is cool since Scarlet Witch has such an interesting history in Marvel Comics. To make it even cooler, Paul Bettany is rumored to be joining her in the Disney+ series as The Vision. Whether or not this is a sitcom with the two sharing cooking tips is still to be determined.

9. LOKI

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

Along with a Scarlet Witch Marvel show on Disney+, it was also announced that Tom Hiddleston would be bringing Loki to the small screen as well. This slightly moved to spoiler territory at first since Loki perished in Avengers: Infinity War, but recent rumors indicate that may not matter.

It is rumored that the TV series might incorporate the Kid Loki storyline and Hiddleston will be there as a background type character for the story — just to provide some voice-over narration. In Marvel Comics, Loki was reincarnated as Kid Loki after he perished in the Siege storyline, so that takes the events in InfinityWar and leads them right into the TV series.

8. WINTER SOLDIER AND FALCON

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

With the rumors that Captain America won't make it out of Avengers: Endgame alive—or at least still as Captain America—it looks like his two best friends might be getting a Disney+ television series of their own. While many fans wondered if Bucky Barnes or Sam Wilson would take on Cap's mantle, for now, it seems they will remain in their own superhero identities.

Falcon & Winter Soldier is in development for Disney+ and will bring both Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan together for their own adventure. While the Russo brothers won't be involved, it will be curious if this series will conclude with one of the men picking up the shield.

7. LADY SIF

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

In one of the most surprising Disney+ Marvel rumors, it sounds like there might be plans to create a new series based around Lady Sif. While she has not appeared in a movie since Thor: The Dark World, Jaimie Alexander did make an appearance in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at one point.

Now reports indicate she will get her own big adventure on Disney+. This would be two series based on Thor's Asgardian co-stars, along with Loki. The idea is for a six or eight episode series but there is no word on when in the timeline this would take place.

6. ROCKET RACCOON AND GROOT

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

There is a chance that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 might not happen due to Marvel firing James Gunn, or at least if it does, it is still a long ways off. With that said, there are some big rumors that there will be a Disney+ Marvel series based on Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

As with the other Marvel movie characters coming to the small screen, the original actors will be coming, which means Bradley Cooper as Rocket and Vin Diesel just saying "I am Groot."  As with the other early announced series, this will be a shorter miniseries and with both characters animated, it could take place at any time in the past, present or future.

5. NICK FURY

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

For a while, it seemed that Marvel was moving away from Samuel L. Jackson and Nick Fury in its movies. However, Jackson wanted to return and with him appearing in both Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home this year, it looks like Jackson is back to full-time again, so he might be headed for his own Disney+ series.

The new Captain Marvel movie shows that the technology to de-age Jackson's appearance works perfectly, so there is no telling what they could do with the former commander of S.H.I.E.L.D. There are rumors that it will be "bigger and better" than just a Fury solo series, so that could prove to be very exciting.

4. NEBULA AND GAMORA

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

The story between sisters Nebula and Gamora was one of the more interesting aspects of the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Nebula morphed from a villain sidekick into a sympathetic character who tried to overcome a tortured past. She was last seen battling Thanos alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War.

Despite Gamora perishing in Avengers: Infinity War, they will both be back for Avengers: Endgame, so there is hope that the sisters with the very conflicted relationship will get more screen time in the movies. There are also the rumors that the two have a Disney+ series in "early development" as well.

3. HAWKEYE

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

There have been a ton of rumors circulating concerning Hawkeye, the oft-forgotten member of the MCU Avengers team. In 2017, Jeremy Renner said that there wasn't going to be a Netflix Marvel series based on the archer but things appear to be changing in the Disney+ world and the rumors are very exciting.

According to reports, a Hawkeye series will hit Disney+ and will not just feature Clint Barton but also Kate Bishop — the female Hawkeye in Marvel Comics. Katherine Langford of 13 Reasons Why has signed on for Avengers: Endgame and rumor is she will play Bishop as Hawkeye with Barton taking on the mantle of Ronin in the movie.

2. MOON KNIGHT

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

When it comes to pure speculation, the idea of a Moon Knight Marvel series coming to Disney+ has to be right up at the top. The cult favorite Marvel vigilante has been rumored for a few years now. Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight said that he wants a Moon Knight series and Kevin Feige has said that Marvel has been talking about it.

Moon Knight could have been perfect for the street level Marvel world on Netflix, even with his mystical leanings. At the end of the day, Moon Knight is a man who takes on multiple personalities and is much more than just Marvel's version of Batman. He would be perfect for Disney+ in his own solo series.

1. DAREDEVIL

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

Netflix has canceled Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil. It is a foregone conclusion that they will cancel Jessica Jones and Punisher after those shows air their final seasons. According to reports, Disney+ can't bring any of those shows back for two years. However, they have enough lined up for the next two years to bide their time.

If any of those shows have the best chance at a revival on Disney+, it is Daredevil. The cast wants to return and Netflix announced that Daredevil will live on in "future projects for Marvel." Now, only time will tell if a fourth season—or a new title with Daredevil—will appear on Disney+.
