The MCU has been around since 2008 and brought thousands of fans back to Marvel. The MCU now has over 20 films and there are plenty more on the way. Many of the early live-action characters were already well known (the Hulk, Iron Man, etc), but now that this universe is well-established, comic fans are thrilled to see more lesser-known figures making an appearance.

Despite all of this, there are still a lot of superheroes Marvel could work with and show the fans on TV or the big screen. Here are 5 heroes who would make for great movies and 5 who would be better on TV.

10 Great For Movies: Moon Knight

Fans often enjoy heroes who aren't as squeaky clean as you might expect from someone who fights crime and wears a superhero costume. And Marc Spector aka Moon Knight is one of those heroes since he's mentally unstable. As the recent Joker film with Joaquin Phoenix proved, the audience wants to see more damaged heroes or even villains. Moon Knight, who could also be considered an antihero, would be perfect for a deep and dark film about a superhero who's more than just his costumes and special powers, however impressive both might be. Plus, Moon Knight is sometimes compared to Batman, and the world has already gotten a lot of Batman films, so why not this one?

9 Better On TV: Spider-Woman

So many fans know and love your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, but what about another member of the Spider family, Spider-Woman (known as Jessica Drew in her civil life)? Bringing Jessica Drew to life on the small screen would be a good way how to continue in the style of TV shows such as Agent Carter or Jessica Jones, and since both of these shows are now over, Marvel could use a TV series about a badass female heroine more than ever, at least if it wants to be able to compete with DC and its female-oriented shows (Batwoman, Supergirl, and the upcoming Stargirl).

8 Great For Movies: Captain Britain

Captain Britain Sword of Might feature

A lot of superhero stories are closely connected to the city of New York since so many superheroes live in New York, such as Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Captain America. But the world is much bigger than one city, and Marvel has reflected this by introducing heroes from various corners of the planet in their comics. One of them was Captain Britain, and you can no doubt guess where he comes from. He has a set of interesting powers that would translate well into a feature film and it'd be an opportunity how to bring a new hero into the MCU and have him interact with superheroes he worked with (such as Spider-Man) in the comics.

7 Better On TV: She-Hulk

The MCU has a lot of humorous films showing that even fighting villains and risking your life almost on an everyday basis can be done with a joke on your lips. But it lags behind in this area on the TV screens since most of its live-action TV shows were rather dark.

That's where She-Hulk could come in, since she's one of the funniest and most relaxed superheroes in the whole Marvel universe. Unlike her cousin Bruce Banner, Jennifer Walters doesn't mind changing into a green giant, and combining her superhero activity with her job as a lawyer would bring an interesting new angle to the Marvel shows.

6 Great For Movies: Ms. Marvel

Captain Marvel has already gotten her solo film and also introduced to the world one of the cutest and most dangerous cats ever (hello, Goose!), but she could be followed by Ms. Marvel. This would not only introduce another great female superhero to the world but would also appeal to a younger audience since Kamala Khan (aka Ms. Marvel) is a teenager. She has to juggle getting special powers with going to school and getting along with her family, and she could also team up with another young superhero, Tom Holland's Spider-Man, if the situation called for it. If that wasn't enough, Kamala's optimism and sunny nature is something a lot of people would like to see more of.

5 Better On TV: Spider-Girl

One of the most successful superhero films of recent years didn't belong to the MCU. It was the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, which introduced a lot of alternate versions of the iconic web-slinger. But there's another spider-themed hero who would deserve more attention from the TV audience, and that's Spider-Girl, known as May Parker in her civilian life. May is the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson, and she becomes a superhero even though her dad asks her not to do it. There's a lot of material for a TV show in May's comic book stories, and if the creators threw in time travel as well, they could have May team up with a younger version of her dad.

4 Great For Movies: Spider-Gwen

This article already mentioned Spider-Woman and Spider-Girl, but there's also a space for the third spider on this list, and that's Spider-Gwen. She also appeared in the animated Into the Spiderverse film where she played an important part, but no-one has seen her in the MCU so far and it's unlikely that it will change anytime soon.

That doesn't mean that Sony couldn't make a standalone movie with her, though. This version of Gwen Stacy kicks ass and she's one of the most badass superheroes ever.

3 Better On TV: Fantastic Four

Chances are fairly high that sooner or later, the audience will see another version of the iconic Marvel superhero family on the big screen. In the newest century, there have already been too and neither of them was particularly warmly accepted, especially the second one. So it's quite possible that this superhero team simply isn't cut out for the big screen and would work better on TV. After all, it could easily be done as a sitcom about a family, whose members often argue, but, wait for it, they also have special powers and have to learn how to live with them.

2 Great For Movies: Squirrel Girl

If there's one hero on this list that would make for a great movie comedy, then it has to be Squirrel Girl. Fans and even other superheroes often like to make fun of her but this young lady can be dangerous to every villain she meets when she truly puts her mind to it. The squirrels make great sidekicks for Squirrel Girl but she also joins a division of the Avengers in the comics, the Great Lakes Avengers, all of whom could also appear in the film.

1 Better On TV: Great Lakes Avengers

Speaking of the Great Lakes Avengers... Yes, the group isn't a single superhero but they still deserve a spot on this list, since they're simply too hilarious and their series would be filled with one funny episode after another. They're also extremely bad at being superheroes and are much more likely to end up accidentally killing themselves than stopping any villains, but hey, it's the effort that counts. Squirrel Girl is by far probably the most reasonable and most useful member of the team when it comes to actually fight villains. That might sound surprising, but not when you realize that the group also features heroes such as Flatman, who can make himself, well, flat, and Doorman, who can serve as a human door.
