Artist Scott Koblish's new wraparound connecting variant cover for Fantastic Four #7 and Fantastic Four #8 assembles 700 different Marvel characters in one place.

In celebration of Fantastic Four #7 (which is also the 700th entry in the franchise in terms of legacy numbering), Marvel released a new wraparound connecting variant cover created by Koblish that assembles 700 heroes, villains and other characters together. "I’ve been a big fan of the Fantastic Four since I was a little kid, so not only was it an honor to draw this cover, but it was a dream come true to scroll through every issue of Fantastic Four ever," Koblish said. "I hope I was able to convey all of the sheer joy, wonder, and boundless creativity that the Fantastic Four have embodied for six decades and I hope it continues to be a shining beacon for decades to come."

Marvel Celebrates 700 Issues of Fantastic Four

Fantastic Four #7 comes from writer Ryan North, artist Iban Coello and cover artist Alex Ross. The synopsis for the issue reads, "COLOSSAL ISSUE #700! FANTASTIC FOUR #7 is also FANTASTIC FOUR #700, which means we’re ABSOLUTELY going huge. It’s an over-sized spectacular as the Fantastic Four reach their new home—not knowing that a mysterious threat has made it there first! As their knowledge of LANGUAGE ITSELF begins to melt from their minds, the Four are in disarray as their existence hangs in the balance…and the greatest villain of all time finally seals their DOOM."

The Fantastic Four #1 was first published in 1961 and came from creators Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Art Simek. Beginning in 2022, North and Coello's run has seen Marvel's First Family gradually find their way back to one another after a massive event involving the Negative Zone and time travel in New York City caused the heroes to drift apart from one another.

North previously said about the milestone Fantastic Four issue, "I feel privileged to be writing the Fantastic Four at any time, honestly, but getting to have a big milestone issue happen on my watch is certainly lucky -- and it's an opportunity I didn't want to waste. A big anniversary issue like this demands a similarly big story, something meaningful, impactful, and memorable. And given that it's a supersized issue with more room to play, everything aligned to do a story with the Fantastic Four's most meaningful, impactful, memorable, and supersized villain: Doctor Doom."

Fantastic Four #7 features additional variants by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Greg Land, Rob Liefeld and Kirby. The issue releases May 17, 2023, from Marvel. Fantastic Four #8 follows in June 2023.
