Marvel has some good news and bad news for Deadpool fans. The publisher has announced two momentous moments in the merc with a mouth's history via Nerdist: the release of Deadpool's 250th solo issue -- as well his impending demise.

Wade Wilson will meet his end this April in "Deadpool" #250 (A.K.A. issue #45), which Marvel has revealed will be the final issue of the current "Deadpool" series. The most recent volume kicked off in late 2012 with the writing team of Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn at the helm. The duo remain with the merc for his final issue, and are joined by fellow writers/comedians Ben Acker, Ben Blacker, Nick Giovanetti, Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas and Mike Drucker.

The solicitation for the issue states that they reached the number 250 by adding together all the "Deadpool" series "creatively." Wilson received his first four-issue limited series, "The Circle Chase," in 1993. Another four-issue series followed in 1994. His first ongoing series debuted in 1997 and ran for 69 issues -- 70 if you count the #-1 issue. His 2008 ongoing published 67 total issues. That adds up to a total of 190 issues, leaving the rest of the issue count comprised of the dozens of other Deadpool limited series Marvel has published over the past decade.
