When Marvel Comics announced its incoming "Secret Wars" event yesterday, the publisher promised the story would heavily rely on the Disney unit's synergistic media reach. But well before that time arrives, Marvel has already got its cross-platform trumpets blaring.

Today, the company announced that come November it will air a special titled "Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp to Pop!" on Disney sibling ABC. The special will take the place of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." on November 2 and will be hosted by "Revenge" star Emily VanCamp who recently joined the Marvel cinematic universe as Agent Sharon Carter in "Captain America: The Winter Solider."

Promising to explore the publisher from its 1939 launch with "Marvel Comics" #1 on through its modern era of pop culture dominance. The special caps a number of 75th Anniversary efforts by the company in publishing and promotion -efforts which have not gone without speculation about how they will shape the future of the company when it comes to things like the promotion of "The Fantastic Four" whose film rights remain at 20th Century Fox.
