If a new rumor is to be believed, Jim Carrey will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the live-action version of M.O.D.O.K.

The moderators of r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers shared a bunch of rumored details about several of Marvel's upcoming Disney+ shows and movies, including that Blade will debut on Moon Knight. The mods of the subreddit have been good about vetting leakers in the past, and a few of the details apparently arrived months ago and have since been confirmed. According to the leaker, Carrey has already been cast as M.O.D.O.K. and could appear as early as She-Hulk. The series has been described as a sitcom, likely based on Jennifer Walters' more humorous runs in the comics. As such, Carrey arriving as the notoriously hard to adapt villain could make a good fit.

The leaker also said M.O.D.O.K. could appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, though that seems less certain. Given She-Hulk is expected to arrive in 2022 but does not yet have a release date, it's not clear whether the show would come before or after the movie. Either way, it's said that the casting of Carrey will bring the villain into multiple projects. It's noted that he will appear in more than one Disney+ show, but so far, none of the others have an outright comedic tone.

Secret Invasion, however, is a likely contender. M.O.D.O.K. appeared as a sort of anti-hero in a humorous run of Secret Avengers which also featured Nick Fury and Agent Coulson. He's also come up against S.H.I.E.L.D. on many occasions with his own organization, A.I.M. And with the Skrulls a major part of Secret Invasion, it's not hard to imagine that show having a more comedic bent given how the aliens have been portrayed so far in the MCU.

If M.O.D.O.K. does feature on She-Hulk, it won't be as the big bad. The leaker stated that Jameela Jamil's Titania will be the main villain of the show, so M.O.D.O.K. might simply be one of the foes Jennifer faces off against. The show is a courtroom comedy, however, so the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing could appear as a client of the gamma-powered lawyer.

Outside of the MCU, Hulu's M.O.D.O.K. series features Patton Oswalt as the voice of the villain. There were also rumors that Peter Dinklage was set to play M.O.D.O.K. in Avengers: Infinity War before it was revealed that he was playing Eitri.

She-Hulk does not yet have a release date on Disney+.
