Since his 1941 introduction, Captain America has become one of the most recognizable characters across all of Marvel comics. Steve Rogers, an out of shape kid from Brooklyn turned super soldier, is a symbol of patriotism, honor, and courage that has heroically served the greater good as both a solo act as well as a leading member of the Avengers.

Captain America, with his enhanced abilities such as boosted speed, strength, and combat technique, has taken part in his fair share of legendary bouts. Despite being one of the strongest and most skilled fighters in all of comics, he could still probably be taken down by a select few. Making a jump to the DC Universe, let's see which heroes would fall to Captain America and those that could take him down with ease.

10 Midnighter (Can Beat)

The Midnighter is one of the more mysterious crime-fighters of the DC Universe. Although most of his past remains unknown, that doesn't stop him from showcasing his skillset and power on a nightly basis. He and Captain America share most of their abilities including super speed, strength, durability, and combat skill.

Even though it would be a fairly even tilt, Captain America takes the advantage here. His enhanced speed and strength are tough to beat, plus the way he utilizes his vibranium shield in combat definitely gives him a leg up. At the end of the day, Cap would probably take some damage at the hands of the Midnighter, but would ultimately emerge victoriously.

9 Green Lantern (Can't Beat)

Cap unfortunately stands no chance against Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. With the ability to create weapons, force fields, and other useful technology with his power ring, he would absolutely wipe the floor with the star-spangled man.

In almost any scenario, Green Lantern would easily take care of a fight with Captain America. He might take a few punches or hits from the shield, but his abilities from the power ring would ultimately help him handily beat Cap to a pulp.

8 Rick Flag (Can Beat)

Despite being one of the strongest soldiers in the DC Universe and the leader of the Suicide Squad, Rick Flag would have a tough time holding a candle to Captain America. The two do share similarities in their abilities to lead as well as their passion to serve, but Marvel's golden boy actually possesses the necessary enhanced skills to take down someone like Flag.

Even with the use of weapons, Flag probably wouldn't be able to hurt Cap much. We've seen Rogers take care of armed enemies and Rick Flag would be no different. In the ultimate soldier vs. soldier fight, Captain America undoubtedly holds the advantage.

7 Cyborg (Can't Beat)

Victor Stone, or Cyborg, is another Justice League member who'd have no problem defeating Captain America. He's stacked to the brim with abilities, including ones shared with Rogers like super strength and durability.

The real kicker in this fight, though, is that Cyborg possesses the technological advancement and genius-level intellect to put Captain America to shame. With his arsenal of weaponry and technology-based skills, Stone wouldn't offer a fair fight for Captain Rogers.

6 Nightwing (Can Beat)

You may be noticing a pattern in the type of DC heroes that Captain America could take down. They're mainly grounded, street-level characters with minimal special or given abilities. The next in line to take a beating from Rogers, who certainly fits in that category, would be Batman's prodigy and partner Dick Grayson, more commonly known as Nightwing.

Much like Bruce Wayne, Grayson also possesses no superhuman capabilities despite being a master in combat and gadget specialist. If he were to find himself face to face with Captain America, he'd be quickly outmatched and outmuscled by the super-soldier. Without any sort of superpowered speed or strength, Nightwing wouldn't be able to compete with the likes of Cap.

5 The Flash (Can't Beat)

It's fairly well known that the abilities of Barry Allen make him one of the most powerful heroes in the DC universe. His superspeed allows him to travel alongside godlike figures such as Superman and in some iterations of the character, provides him the ability to create somewhat of an electrical current. That speed also famously gives him an advantage in combat, being able to confuse and out-maneuver his opponents simply by outrunning them.

Even though Captain America possesses great speed and strength, it doesn't compare to what the Flash can do. His speed alone makes him one of the most dangerous heroes of all-time and would be the defining factor in a fight against anyone, even Captain America.

4 Green Arrow (Can Beat)

Consider this: Would Captain America be able to beat Hawkeye in a one-on-one fight? You're probably saying to yourself, "obviously". Well, then just apply that thought process to a tilt between Cap and DC's Green Arrow.

As basically the Hawkeye of the DC Universe, Oliver Queen is a master archer with impeccable aim and precision to go along with skill in martial arts. Regardless, Captain America has his shield which would probably thwart most of Green Arrow's attacks. That coupled with Cap's given advantages in both speed and strength means this fight wouldn't be a close one.

3 Wonder Woman (Can't Beat)

Even though this one would undoubtedly be an epic and competitive bout, the advantage ultimately goes to the Amazonian Princess. Wonder Woman's superhuman abilities combined with that fact she's, you know, invulnerable makes her much more of a threat in combat than Captain America.

She also possesses magical weaponry like her legendary lasso. In pretty much every category, she overpowers Captain America. If these two were to battle it out, Wonder Woman should have no problem earning the victory.

2 Batman (Can Beat)

Captain America vs. The Dark Knight: Who wouldn't want to see that? Both have more than enough experience and skill in combat, which would make for one of the more interesting and competitive fights between any Marvel and DC characters.

However, this one ultimately comes down to superhuman abilities. Batman might be able to divert Cap with some of his gadgets, but it would only be a matter of time before Cap's speed and strength overpower Bruce Wayne. Even though this would be another legendary, and arguably the best, DC vs. Marvel fight, Cap takes the win at the end of the day.

1 Superman (Can't Beat)

This one is just unfair from the get-go. Then again, is any fight involving Superman really that fair? Even Cap's superhuman abilities come nowhere close in comparison to Superman's vast range of powers. His ability to fly and shoot lasers from his eyes alone puts Captain America at a serious disadvantage.

Considering the two have a lot of similar character qualities, they'd probably never end up fighting one another, but if they were to, it wouldn't be close. Superman could probably take down most Marvel heroes, but Captain America would really not be able to put up much of a fight. Unlike most, Superman would be one of the few DC heroes that would give Captain Steve Rogers absolutely zero chance in a one vs. one battle.
