Fans of Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow have waited patiently for Marvel Studios to give the character her own solo film. And for a time, it seemed as though it wasn't going to happen, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige seemed to dismiss the idea when he announced the Phase Three line-up for the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- which included the studio's first female-led film with Captain Marvel. However, now, nearly four years later, a Black Widow film is (finally) coming and to celebrate, Bosslogic has crafted a fan-poster for the upcoming film.
Over the years, Bosslogic has established himself as one of the best digital artists online, often revealing stunning fanart for various projects, including some work that has managed to grab the attention of Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo. Now, he's back with yet another impressive piece of work, and this time it's for the upcoming Black Widow prequel.
In the poster, which you can see below, a shadow of a Black Widow spider -- which sits atop Nat's guns -- lingers on the SHIELD background. The poster also sports the speculated cast list for the film, as Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Cobie Smulders are listed on top along with Johansson. Of course, while reports have indicated that the film will, in fact, be a prequel, the only actor confirmed to appear as of now is Johansson. That could -- and probably will -- change, though, as the film moves closer to production.
Black Widow will be directed by Berlin Syndrome director Cate Shortland from a script by Jac Schaeffer. As of now, the film does not currently have a release date, but it's expected that it'll be released sometime in 2020.
