Since his debut in the MCU, Black Panther's stock has been on the rise... but this isn't anything new to fans of Marvel's comics. T'Challa has always been one of the most foremost heroes in the Marvel Universe, a member of the Avengers and monarch, well known for his ability to kick butt and take names.

Wolverine has been a household for a very long time. He's been in comics, TV shows, and movies and will always be one of the biggest characters Marvel has. People love the stories of the man who is the best there is at what he does. If Black Panther and Wolverine were to meet in battle, which would win? This list is going to take a look at each of their strengths and try to answer that question.

11 Black Panther: Power Of The Panther

Black Panther is the King of Wakanda and Wakanda is home to vibranium, one of the most valuable metals in the world. Vibranium, besides being very durable, also has mutagenic properties. It has mutated a certain herb, and the Kings of Wakanda ingest that herb, giving them enhanced physical abilities. T'Challa, like his ancestors before him, has eaten the herb, making him superhumanly fast and strong.

10 Wolverine: Mutant Healing Factor

Wolverine Punisher

One of the things that makes Wolverine such a deadly opponent is his ability to take crazy amounts of damage and keep fighting. This is a man who has had all the skin blasted off him and regenerated. And that's all because of one of his mutant abilities- his healing factor.

While not the most powerful healing factor in the Marvel Universe, Wolverine can still take all kinds of damage, heal, and keep coming. This ability to take damage puts him on another level when it comes to brawlers in the Marvel Universe.

9 Black Panther: One Of The Smartest Guys In The Room

Black Panther isn't just a great superhero, he's also a world leader and no slouch in the science department. He has been faced with problems that he can't always fight his way through... or at least not just with his fists. T'Challa is a master strategist in many ways, both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table. This makes him a very well rounded opponent.

8 Wolverine: The Best There Is At What He Does

Wolverine Muramasa Blade

Wolverine has been alive for a very long time and in all that time, he's been learning. His education has been in combat. When it comes right down to it, there probably aren't very many superheroes who are as skilled as Wolverine when it comes to hand-to-hand combat.

He's fought in just about every war of at least the last hundred years, has trained with some of the greatest martial artists around the world, and has been a superhero for years. There are very few people who can take him in a straight hand-to-hand contest.

7 Black Panther: Vibranium

Black Panther

Black Panther arms himself with vibranium. His claws are made of it. His suit is made of it. Most of his other weapons use it in some way, shape, or form. Vibranium is unique in that it absorbs impact and stores up the kinetic energy. Black Panther can take hits that would kill a lesser man because of the vibranium in his suit, and his claws are razor sharp. Add to that all of the other uses of the metal and it adds to his already formidable arsenal.

6 Wolverine: Adamantium

The Weapon X program bonded adamantium to Wolverine's skeleton. Adamantium is one of the most durable metals in the world. Along with his healing factor, Wolverine's adamantium skeleton makes him a nearly indestructible foe.

His claws, also bonded with adamantium, can cut through nearly anything. Each of them is about a foot long and Wolverine is an expert with them, adding them to his already fearsome martial arts repertoire. His claws can even pierce the skin of the Hulk.

5 Black Panther: Indomitable

The Wasp, Black Panther and Gorilla-Man in Marvel Comics

One of the things about Black Panther that make him such a deadly opponent is the simple fact that he never backs down. T'Challa has known defeat, but it wasn't because he gave up. Even against foes who would easily defeat him, Black Panther never wavers and it's this confidence that has made even the most dangerous foe of his have second thoughts about facing him... and that's when T'Challa wins.

4 Wolverine: Punches Way Over His Weight Class

Hulk Wolverine Marvel Voices feature

Much like Black Panther, Wolverine never backs down from a fight either... and more than that, he picks fights with enemies that he probably shouldn't pick fights with. Sometimes, this costs him dearly- Wolverine has lost a lot of fights, way more than Black Panther has.

However, it also means he has some really impressive victories under his belt as well. Wolverine is one of the few guys in the Marvel Universe who can be called upon to fight the Hulk and doesn't even balk at it. Sure, that mean seem stupid- it's okay to be afraid of the Hulk- but Wolverine knows just how dangerous the Hulk is and, what's more, has even defeated the Jade Giant on occasion. Wolverine does this sort of thing all the time- beats guys who he shouldn't even be able to stand against.

3 Black Panther: The Total Package

Black Panther has it all. His physical skills and fighting ability are amazing. Black Panther has fought entire teams of both heroes and villains to a standstill. He's always one of the smartest guys in any room he walks into and he hangs around with guys like Tony Stark and Reed Richards. When it comes to strategy, he's on par with Captain America. Add to that his vibranium-based armor and weapons and Black Panther is a guy no one would want to face in a fight.

2 Wolverine: The Underdog With A Bite

It's strange to say this about one of the most popular comic characters ever, but Wolverine is just about always the underdog in most situations he finds himself in. Sure, he has an indestructible skeleton and claws, a healing factor, low-level super strength, and super senses, but he is in a world where rage monsters have potentially infinite strength and he is known for throwing himself at a guy with magnetic powers even though metal is a big part of him. Wolverine is an underdog in every sense of the word, but he somehow manages to come out on top just enough to earn his deadly reputation.

1 The Winner: Wolverine

Wolverine Kubert feature

Black Panther is Wolverine's superior in a lot of ways and has even been able to beat him in a short fight before, but if it really came down to it, all the cards on the table, Wolverine would beat him. There's nothing Black Panther can do to Wolverine that other people haven't done to him and Wolverine is just more of a skilled hand-to-hand combatant than him. He has more experience. It would be a brutal fight, as the two men used all of their skills to attack the other, but Wolverine would triumph because he could just take more damage and keep dishing it out. Black Panther is a hard nut to crack, but Wolverine would be able to do it.
