A wave of new photos from Marvel's Black Panther provide additional depth to the film's large cast, while also raising new questions regarding the plot.

A gallery debuting on Entertainment Weekly includes an interesting photo labeled as the "Battle of Warrior Falls," a holy place in Wakanda. T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), holding a shield, squares off against Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), who's armed with two blades. In the background are Black Panther's personal security, the Dora Milaje. The reason for the battle is unknown, but it more than likely deals with Killmonger believing he would be a better leader than the current king. Killmonger's chest, arms and torso are also covered in tribal scars with a mysterious backstory. "That is a story reveal that we’d like to preserve," executive producer Nate Moore teased.

Other photos show the "Warriors of Wakanda," Dora Milaje members Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Ayo (Florence Kasumba), and Wakandan undercover operative Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o).

One curious group shot shows Nakia, T'Challa's mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett) and sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) accompanied by CIA operative Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) to one of the icier regions of Wakanda, ruled by M'Baku (Winston Duke). Ross is one of the only outsiders to be welcomed into the African nation.

Another set of images elaborates on an underground casino in South Korea. Here we see Ross face to face with Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), who at some point in the film joins forces with Killmonger. Okoye, Nakia, and T'Challa also appear at the casino "dressed to the nines," according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.

Opening on Feb. 16, 2018, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown and John Kani.
