Marvel Studios has unveiled the first poster for Black Panther, promising the teaser trailer for director Ryan Coogler's film will premiere tonight during the NBA Finals.

The image depicts Chadwick Boseman, who was introduced as T'Challa in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, sitting on the throne of Wakanda following the assassination of his father.

After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country’s new leader. However, T’Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from fractions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

Game Four of the NBA Finals will be broadcast tonight beginning 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Disney-owned ABC, which has been airing promotional tie-ins all week for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Opening Feb. 16, 2018, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown  and John Kani.
