One of the most popular superheroes in the Marvel Comics, Black Panther took the world by storm after the release of his official movie, although the fans of the comics always knew exactly how good this superhero can be.

Black Panther made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War and it's fair to say that the character has developed a massive fan following since then. Everyone should know by now that The Marvel Cinematic Universe makes a lot of changes to a character from the comics and the same happened with Black Panther. So, here are some things you need to know about Marvel's Prince Of Wakanda.

10 His Love Of Storm

Black Panther and Storm embracing

Many Marvel fans who haven't read the comics wouldn't know this one. Black Panther, aka T'Challa, married Ororo, aka Storm. In fact, he really loved her but he had to let her go because he was the King of Wakanda and he felt he needed to concentrate on his work. Because of his relationship with Ororo, Black Panther is one of those rare Avengers who has met a lot of X-Men. Even his marriage party had a lot of them.

9 Black Panther's Crew

As stated above, Black Panther is The King of Wakanda, which means he is open to help anyone as long as it's for the right cause. And, over the years, he has done that with brilliant consistency, leading and aiding some groups to success. One of those that the fans might not know about is The Crew, which also had Luke Cage, Storm, Misty Knight, and Manifold. Even White Tiger and War Machine once linked up with Black Panther's The Crew.

8 Daredevil Connection

Who doesn't love Daredevil?

Being one of the most popular heroes in Marvel Comics history, Daredevil has made it almost impossible for anyone to step into his shoes. But for once, when he required some rest, Black Panther was there to take up the mantle and protect Hell's Kitchen.

As mentioned previously, Black Panther has helped a lot of superheroes and Daredevil is just one in a long list. He briefly dons Daredevil's uniform during the events of Shadowland

7 He Can Speak To The Dead

Black Panther

Of course, Black Panther can also speak to the dead, as if having a powerful suit and supernatural powers wasn't enough. The King of Wakanda has usually ventured to Necropolis (where previous Black Panthers are buried) in search of advice when he finds himself in tough situations. The amount of experience he has access to is absolutely mind-boggling. It's no wonder T'Challa is such a good king.

6 Only Female Bodyguards

Another small yet incredible detail about Black Panther is that he is surrounded exclusively by female bodyguards and, honestly, that's such a unique detail to be associated with. This is what makes him so much different from any other superhero in the Marvel Universe. He has rituals he is bound to and he stays true to all of them.

5 The Illuminati Connection

One of the more famous things Black Panther is associated with is his membership within The Illuminati, which featured some of the most powerful people on Earth. The Illuminati was formed in order to share secret information across the planet and to bring together every group of superheroes in case an enemy threat too hot to handle emerged onto the scene.

4 Way To Go Sister

T'Challa is a very unique Black Panther because he fought for Shuri to become a Black Panther as well. After discovering that Shuri is one of the smartest women in the world, T'Challa decided to train her himself and told her that she would take up the mantle of Black Panther if for some reason T'Challa had to leave Wakanda. She deserved it considering all the hard work she did manufacturing the Black Panther suits.

3 Marvel's Very First Black Hero

Black Panther

Black Panther was the first black superhero in Marvel Comics and if that in itself doesn't make the character legendary then what does?

While he debuted in the Fantastic Four series way back in 1966, The King of Wakanda didn't get his first individual comic until 1977. Before the first comic released, Black Panther had already become a part of The Avengers.

2 His Powers And Suit

It's no surprise that T'Challa wasn't born with his extraordinary powers. Instead, he gets his powers from The Heart-Shaped Herb, which only works for the people who live in Wakanda. He has faster healing, heightened senses, can see in the dark, and even hear people's heartbeats, much like Daredevil. His suit, on the other hand, is made of pure vibranium, while his knuckles are made of anti-metal.

1 Arch Enemy

Marvel Comics' Killmonger hitting Black Panther

Black Panther's arch-enemy is none other Erik Killmonger and the biggest surprise is the fact that T'Challa has never fairly beaten him in one-on-one combat. Their final fight in the movie is all wrong because Killmonger has proven to be too much to handle for The King of Wakanda on multiple occasions. So much so that T'Challa has had to relinquish his title a couple of times because Killmonger has beaten him fair and square.
