While the Avengers have always had an ever-changing line-up of members since the founders first joined together in 1963's The Avengers #1, the last decade has seen serious expansions of the team that have resulted in further branching of the Avengers name.

These new Avengers teams each have a varied selection of powerful members on their rosters, but which line-up of the Avengers had the most powerful members over the last decade? We'll be taking a closer look at the most recent rosters of the Avengers to find out which team really is Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

10 WEST COAST AVENGERS

While the original West Coast Avengers formed in the 80s and disbanded in the 90s, a new version of the team was put together by Kate Bishop/Hawkeye under the watch of former WCA leader Clint Barton/Hawkeye.

The team included young heroes like Quentin Quire/Kid Omega, Miss America Chavez, Gwenpool, and new characters like Fuse, Alloy, and, of course, Jeff the Baby Landshark. Kid Omega and Miss America are both individually very powerful, but the new West Coast Avengers is still a relatively untested and unproven roster of heroes-in-training.

9 AVENGERS IDEA MECHANICS

When Roberta da Costa/Sunspot was called up to the Avengers from the X-Men, no one expected he would leave such a mark on the team and go on to lead his own version, which became known as Avengers Idea Mechanics.

Sunspot decided to buy the criminal science organization A.I.M. and restructured the group to assist the Avengers. The main roster included Cannonball, Hawkeye, Dr. Toni Ho/Iron Patriot, Hulkling, Wiccan, Pod/Enigma, Squirrel Girl, Songbird and later a new Red Hulk when they turned into the U.S.Avengers.

8 MIGHTY AVENGERS

Luke Cage assembled a new team of heroes that was focused on helping the community in the same way he did as a Hero for Hire, though the group were a not-for-profit organization that began to use the Mighty Avengers name.

Luke's team included powerful members like Blue Marvel, Spectrum, She-Hulk, Spider-Man (both Superior and original), Falcon/Captain America, Blade and legacy heroes like the new Power Man and White Tiger.

7 ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT

Roster of the All-New, All-Different Avengers

Marvel's All-New, All-Different rebranding introduced a number of new versions of classic characters, and the Avengers reflected this the best with a very powerful roster, however they were mostly teen heroes in the first iteration of the team.

The All-New, All-Different Avengers featured a classic line-up, though new characters in the roles of Captain America (Sam Wilson), Thor (Jane Foster), Spider-Man (Miles Morales),  Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan), Nova (Sam Alexander) and Wasp (Nadia van Dyne), alongside Vision, Iron Man, Hercules, and the original Spider-Man.

6 AVENGERS A.I.

After the Age of Ultron event unleashed a new advanced artificial intelligence named Dimitrios, Hank Pym and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Monica Chang put together a new team of Avengers to combat the growing threat of Dimitrios and his fellow A.I.

The team didn't stay together long but included some powerhouse A.I. members like Vision, Victor Chang (a cyborg created by Ultron), a Doombot, and a new synthezoid character named Alexis, who was revealed to be an A.I. that was created alongside Dimitrios.

5 A-FORCE

A-Force team line up

While the team known as A-Force was brought together during the Secret Wars event after the arrival of new character Singularity (a sentient pocket universe), they later reformed in the mainstream universe.

A-Force featured some of Marvel's most powerful female characters like Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, Medusa, Dazzler, and Nico Minoru, who each came from very different corners of Marvel's varied group of characters, though the team was fairly short-lived and Singularity has only made a few appearances since.

4 SECRET AVENGERS

Following Norman Osborn's Dark Reign, Steve Rogers was put in charge of a new security organization that operated like S.H.I.E.L.D. and funded the Avengers, though he realized he also needed a team of covert operatives he could trust.

He assembled a team of Secret Avengers that initially featured a fluid cast of heroes based on the missions but included Black Widow, War Machine, Beast, Valkyrie, Nova, Ant-Man III, and a second-team led by Hawkeye that added Giant-Man, Captain Britain, Human Torch I and Agent Venom to the roster.

3 UNITY SQUAD

After Marvel's heroes went to war with each other in Avengers vs. X-Men, Steve Rogers put together the Avengers Unity Squad in Uncanny Avengers that featured both human and mutant characters, with Inhumans joining later as well.

The initial line-up included Havok, Thor, Rogue, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch, but later iterations of the squad added to the powerful line-up with Wonder Man, Wasp, Sunfire, Doctor Voodoo, Quicksilver, Cable, Sabretooth, Synapse, Deadpool, and the second Human Torch.

2 FRESH START

Aaron's Avengers

The current line-up of the Avengers is one of the most powerful fans have ever seen, and mimics the recently revealed Avengers of 1,000,000 BC in that it includes some of Marvel's legacy characters like Ghost Riders, Asgardians, and Black Panthers.

This version of the team is led by the current Black Panther and includes Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), and Blade, though the team is assisted by former Avengers who work with the Agents of Wakanda as well.

1 AVENGERS MACHINE

Every Avenger heading into battle

After Avengers vs. X-Men left the Marvel Universe on the brink of change, Iron Man had an idea that consumed him, driving him and Captain America to go bigger with the Avengers, creating what became known as the "Avengers Machine."

This group of Avengers assembled the largest roster yet that included past members and new additions with the goal of turning Earth into an Avengers World, though the main team would eventually split into separate units and begin fighting with each other in "Time Runs Out."
