Marvel Assembles New "Avengers" Poster

Marvel Studios has unveiled a sleek new character banner for "The Avengers" on Yahoo! Movies showcasing Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chris Hemsworth as Thor, each within the familiar "A" emblem.

Presumably the studio will soon release individual posters, including ones spotlighting Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

UPDATE: Moviefone has debuted the other four posters in a second banner, featuring, as expected, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Black Widow along with the film's main antagonist, Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

Directed by Joss Whedon, "The Avengers" finds the S.H.I.E.L.D. director assembling a team to pull Earth back from the brink of disaster as an unexpected enemy emerges to threaten the planet. Opening May 4, 2012, "The Avengers" also stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill and Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Selvig.
