The Asgardian Gods are some of the most powerful beings in the universe. Whether they are the legendary Norse Gods the old Marvel Comics portrayed them as or an alien race (which newer versions seem to prefer), the Asgardians are near the top of the food chain when it comes to power and might.

However, not all Asgardians are created equal. As has been shown in both the movies and comic books, Asgard has a lot of people who are more human than God and even some of the Gods in the realm are not much more powerful than the top of the line Earthly superheroes.

10 Most Powerful: Hela

Hela was powerful in the comic book stories. In those stories, she was the daughter of Loki and a sorceress named Angerboda and became the Queen of Hel. She had the basic powers of an Asgardian woman and was a powerful practitioner of magic. As a plus, as the Goddess of Death, she never ages past her prime and holds the power of life and death over the Gods of Asgard.

In the MCU, she got a power boost. It turned out that Hela was the first-born to Odin, the older sister of Thor and Loki and the heir to the throne. She was powerful enough to single-handedly beat the entire army of Asgard in Thor: Ragnarok and not even Thor, Hulk, Valkyrie, and Loki could beat her without help. Hela was one of the most powerful characters in the entire MCU.

9 Weakest: Sif

10 Marvel Characters Who Could Get Disney+ Shows

Sif is a mighty and powerful warrior, especially when put side-by-side with Earth's mightiest heroes. However, when placed next to her follow Asgardian Gods, she is not as special as one might originally come to believe. Sif is the sister of Heimdall and was a childhood friend to both Thor and Loki.

As a fighter, she is something fierce and has the skills to battle just about anyone in a fight. She has the normal Asgardian physiology, including super strength speed, stamina, and durability. She also has the power of teleportation. However, her upper-tier strength is at the average level for an Asgardian woman.

8 Most Powerful: Heimdall

Idris Elba as Heimdall in Thor: Ragnarok

Heimdall is another character that received a solid upgrade in the movies -- at least by the time Thor: Ragnarok rolled around. Heimdall was the Asgardian God that rallied the surviving people and fought against Hela's warriors, holding his own and proving to be a master fighter.

He died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War but make no mistake, his death was similar to that of Doctor Strange. One of Heimdall's main powers is his ability to see everything -- past, present, and future. He saw what was coming and saved Hulk, knowing that he needed to give his own life to aid in the heroes defeating Thanos.

7 Weakest: Fandral

Zachary Levi as Fandral in Thor

Honestly, the Warriors Three are not that powerful when looking at the Asgardian Gods, all things considered. Volstagg is someone who prefers to eat and lounge around and make excuses not to fight. Hogun is likely the best fighter of the three, and the greatest warrior. Then, at the end of the day, Fandral is the lesser of the three Asgardian Gods.

Fandral is a great fighter, as expected for someone who battles alongside Thor, but he is mostly known for his looks, considered the best looking Asgardian God. He is more of a lady's man than a fighter. To see how little he is respected, watch Thor: Ragnarok and see how effortlessly he dies in that film.

6 Most Powerful: Thor

Thor will always have a place on the list of the most powerful Asgardian Gods. He is the son of Odin, the heir to the throne, and the self-proclaimed strongest Avenger. When it comes to his strength, there are few that are stronger or more durable than Thor -- on Asgard, Earth or the outer reaches of space. He took a direct blast from a Celestial and survived.

He can manipulate energy on the same level as Silver Surfer's cosmic powers, and when he has Mjolnir in hand, he can deliver knock out blows to just about any enemy. Thor also possesses the Life-Force, which allows him to use the full extent of his powers in any realm.

5 Weakest: Enchantress

Enchantress

Enchantress is an Asgardian God who has lived throughout time under different names, but most comic book fans know her as Amora, the Enchantress. She is a powerful sorcerer, but is not on the level of Loki and usually tackles battles using cunning rather than outright power.

She is beautiful and usually prefers to manipulate any man who succumbs to her charms to fight for her. Her strength is below that of a typical Asgardian woman, and she prefers to live in wealth and comfort than get her own hands dirty.

4 Most Powerful: Loki

Loki-Tesseract

Loki was strong in the comics, and even more so in the movies (thanks to his cunning and intelligence). The son of a Frost Giant adopted by Odin, the Allfather, Loki grew up in the royal family and was trained to be both a warrior like Thor and a mystic like his adoptive mother (who herself was raised by witches).

As a result, he developed incredibly powerful magical abilities that give depth to his name as the God of Mischief. His strength and raw power are very weak compared to almost all Asgardian Gods, but his magic is stronger than almost anyone on Asgard and his skills of manipulation and politicking make him a very powerful villain.

3 Weakest: Skurge

For most of Thor: Ragnarok, Skurge the Executioner was a joke, a coward who would rather kneel before Hela than stand and fight for Asgard. He would rather serve under Loki and land a cushy job watching the Bifrost than do the right thing and stand beside Heimdall, who was railroaded out of the job.

While he got a redemptive arc in Thor: Ragnarok and enjoyed a hero's death, his role as a coward and minion is similar to his portrayal in the comics. Skurge was never someone that anyone feared. To prove how limited his powers as an Asgardian God are, look at the fact that he joined the Masters of Evil and was still routinely defeated.

2 Most Powerful: Odin

When looking at the most powerful Asgardian Gods, look to the one who rules them all. Odin is the Allfather, the sole survivor of his brothers when they went to Surtur's realm. When his siblings died to save him, their powers were transferred to Odin, increasing his powers even further. When his father Bor passed, Odin took leadership of Asgard and never looked back.

He is the strongest Asgardian of them all, much stronger than Thor or Heimdall, and it is not just his strength. His magical powers know almost no limits, and his knowledge allows him to win almost any fight and see any outcome. The Odinforce is the final cap, giving him power over all enemies.

1 Weakest: Balder The Brave

Balder the Brave is Thor's brother and someone that movie fans never had a chance to meet. When it comes to comics, Balder is a tragic figure because there is a prophecy that indicates that his death will start Ragnarok -- the end of times for the Asgardian Gods. As a result, Odin and Frigga gave him the power of invulnerability.

This only helped him as long as he remained in Asgard, but it allowed him to withstand any injury from almost any object -- man-made or otherwise. However, as a fighter, he is average on an Asgardian God level but well below his brother Thor. He also can summon beams of light, which doesn't really help too much in a fight.
