Marvel Announces "Unbeatable Squirrel Girl" Ongoing

Entertainment Weekly has announced a new series from Marvel Comics -- "Unbeatable Squirrel Girl" by Ryan North ("Adventure Time") and Erica Henderson ("Quantum & Woody").

The series, which arrives nearly 23 years after her debut, marks Squirrel Girl's first as a headlining hero. The announcement states that the series will follow Luke Cage's former nanny as she heads off to college for a whole new set of adventures. The title also contains an adjective -- "unbeatable" -- not yet used by Marvel comics, setting the titular character apart from her "uncanny" and "amazing" peers.

You can check out series artist Erica Henderson's cover and character design for Squirrel Girl, as well as a variant cover by Art Adams flaunting Squirrel Girl's unbeatable-ness, below.

"Unbeatable Squirrel Girl" debuts in January. Come back to CBR tomorrow for an interview with series writer Ryan North.
