Fans of both Fortnite and Marvel's pantheon of heroes are in luck as the comic book publisher announces a new crossover series that will see the two worlds collide.

Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War will pit iconic heroes like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron-Man and Shuri against the zany characters of Epic Games' hyper-successful battle royale game. Spanning five issues, the story will focus on the quest to discover a crystallized fragment of the Zero Point, a powerful artifact that could end the never-ending war plaguing the Island. To secure their prize and save the day, the heroes will need to cross dimensions while also holding off the sinister Imagined Order, a task which will prove easier said than done.

Penned by veteran Marvel writer Christos Gage (Spider-Geddon, Avengers Academy) and Epic Games' Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard, Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War will also feature art by Sergio Davila (Captain Marvel). While the story itself may be exciting for fans looking to further explore Fortnite's ever-growing world, the comics will also include exclusive codes that can be used to redeem in-game cosmetics. It's currently unknown what specific items will be unlocked but gamers can likely expect new outfits, gliders and pick-axes.

"At its heart, the series is an adventure story, with characters from both universes coming together to go on a treasure hunt into the deepest, darkest depths of the Marvel Universe," said Marvel Comics editor Alanna Smith. "Donald Mustard and Christos Gage have such a deep love for both Fortnite and Marvel, and Sergio Davíla is turning in some absolutely unreal pages. Having the amazing Leinil Francis Yu on main covers and a killer lineup of Marvel artists on variants has been a real gift as well."
