Both Marvel and DC Comics have posted a unique message for Mother's Day.The messages, posted on each publisher's respective Twitter accounts, highlight a fictional character from the Marvel and DC universes. DC's message chose to honor Wonder Woman's mother Hippolyta, in honor of the Amazing Amazon's 80th anniversary. "To the champions of our lives, thank you for sharing your strength and compassion," DC wrote. Hippolyta has recently chosen to join the newest incarnation of the Justice League, after the interdimensional menace Brutus attacked the island of Themiscyra.RELATED: X-Men Teaser Foreshadows The Trial of Magneto in August

Marvel posted a short video on its official Twitter account, featuring the X-Men's Jubilee with her son Shogo. The video wishes followers an "astonishing" and "uncanny" Mother's Day, accompanied by fireworks that mimic Jubilee's mutant power of energy manipulation.

During her time as a vampire, Jubilee found Shogo and took him to the X-Men, later legally adopting him as her son. The two now live on the mutant nation of Krakoa, where Jubilee serves as a member of the new incarnation of Excalibur. Excalibur has found itself embroiled in mystical conflicts, with its team members able to combine their powers to perform spells -- an ability that can come in handy.
