Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman's upcoming Marvel Comics event series Absolute Carnage is going to last a little bit longer than originally thought.

With the comics' launch now just under a month away, Marvel has announced that Absolute Carnage is being extended by one issue, bringing the grand total up to five. "Cletus Kasady cannot be contained," Marvel proclaimed in its statement, revealing that Absolute Carnage #5 is scheduled to be released this November.

In other words, things are looking pretty bleak for Venom, Spider-Man and everyone else who has ever hosted a symbiote. Which, of course, is probably fine by Carnage, seeing as how the villain is undoubtedly all too happy to continue his reign of terror for an additional issue.

Marvel has also officially released the cover for Absolute Carnage #4, the issue that was originally set to conclude the limited series. The cover -- which sees Venom being engulfed by Carnage's blood-like symbiote -- features pencils by Stegman, as well as inks by JP Mayer and colors by Frank Martin.
