Captain Marvel is a powerful and well-known character in Marvel comics. She has extraordinary skills and power levels and is able to do everything from shooting energy beams from her fists to flying. It is incredibly hard to injure her because she doesn't take a lot of damage when hit, and she can even fly in space without a mask or a spacesuit and seems to be just fine with the experience. It’s hard to imagine an opponent that would get the better of her.

There are a few Pokémon species that might be able to give her a run for her money, but many probably would struggle against here. Here are five Pokémon that could defeat Captain Marvel and five that she could takedown.

10 COULD: Lunala

Lunala Pokemon spreading its wings

Lunala is essentially a giant bat with the ability to absorb light. It can fly, which would put it more on Captain Marvel’s playing field, and it’s also able to create Wormholes with which to travel, which could make it very difficult to pin down in battle.

Lunala is a powerful Pokémon that can create a large amount of damage to its opponents and also make it harder for them to attack accurately, which would definitely affect the way Captain Marvel uses her photon blasts.

9 COULDN'T: Duosion

One of Captain Marvel’s few weaknesses is a weakness to psychic attacks. She can’t really pummel away an enemy that is messing with her brain. Duosion is a Psychic-Type Pokémon that has two brains which can give it strong psychic powers, which would give Captain Marvel a run for her money.

However, it’s easily confused, and she could trick these brains into thinking separate thoughts, which would make it try to do two different actions at once to weaken it, and easily dispatch it that way.

8 COULD: Metagross

Metagross in the Pokemon anime

Metagross is a ruthless Pokémon that really, really wants to win in battle and will do just about anything in order to do so. It’s a very intelligent Pokémon, with four brains at its disposal, and it uses them to strategize during battle; it’s smarter than a supercomputer.

Captain Marvel is by no means dumb, but she would have difficulty outlasting this Pokémon. When all else fails, if it thinks that it’s going to lose a battle, it clings to its opponent with its claws and literally explodes, so it would likely take Captain Marvel with it even if it lost.

7 COULDN'T: Hattrem

Sword Shield hattrem pokemon

Hattrem is an adorable Pokémon that looks like a little pink witch and gives the sense that it wouldn’t be able to cause much damage. Still, it can hit incredibly hard with its ponytails, which it uses as hands and pummels its enemies with. It doesn’t like it when any creature is feeling strong emotions and will usually fight them in order to quiet those emotions down.

Captain Marvel is an emotional person, prone particularly to fits of anger, so she would probably have an altercation with Hattrem if they were in the same place. Still, even the strong pummelling attacks of this Pokémon would have difficulty against Captain Marvel’s power.

6 COULD: Latios

Latios Pokemon

Latios looks like a Pokémon that Captain Marvel could probably get behind since it looks sort of like a bird and a jet at the same time; her pilot heart would definitely admire it. It is an incredibly fast Pokémon, and it also has the ability to shape-shift. It is one of the few Pokémon that can do this.

It has some very effective attacks that, combined with its speed, would be very difficult to avoid. Its special move lowers an opponent’s physical defense, which would leave Captain Marvel more vulnerable than she’s used to being.

5 COULDN'T: Wobbuffet

Wobbuffet from the Pokemon anime

Wobbuffet is one of the better known Pokémon, especially for those who remember seeing it in the anime. Wobbuffet is a pretty relaxed Pokémon, despite having pretty high endurance, so it probably wouldn’t want to fight Captain Marvel in the first place.

Though it can give someone a run for their money in the stamina department and gets aggressive when its tail is threatened, Wobbuffet’s lack of aggression would make it easy for Captain Marvel to defeat.

4 COULD: Necrozma

Necrozma is one of the scariest Pokémon to actually look at. It looks incredibly powerful and also mean, which makes sense since it’s very hostile and is definitely out to fight. It has the power to form wormholes that it can travel through, which would be very difficult if faced in battle.

It is an armored Pokémon, which would make it very difficult for Captain Marvel to actually injure since it doesn’t take damage easily. It also has a lot of stamina, so it could wear her down with its constant use of laser beams.

3 COULDN'T: Chimecho

Chimecho is a pretty adorable Pokémon, and it generally doesn’t look all that scary. But it does have some pretty impressive abilities, particularly in creating ultrasonic sound waves, which could definitely incapacitate a lot of enemies.

But Captain Marvel, who has pretty powerful moves at her disposal as well, and who is able to take some pretty heavy hits and still get back up, probably wouldn’t even blink at this little Pokémon.

2 COULD: Mewtwo

Pokemon Mewtwo

Mewtwo is arguably the most powerful Pokémon out there. It was literally designed to be the most difficult to defeat Pokémon that an opponent could battle, and it has an incredibly heavy focus on defeating its enemies.

Even Captain Marvel would have a hard time defeating Mewtwo, since it has a lot of stamina and the power to control minds, one of Captain Marvel’s few weaknesses.

1 COULDN'T: Medicham

Medicham ready to battle in the Pokemon anime

Medicham is a fairly serene Pokémon. It gets its powers from meditation and fasting, and those powers essentially let it create ghost-like arms that it can use in battle.

While these powers are psychokinetic in nature, they are still mostly just physical powers, and Captain Marvel excels at actual, physical battle since she’s both hard to injure and is capable of delivering devastating blows.
