Mark Ruffalo Takes a Lie Detector Test Over Marvel Spoilers

Mark Ruffalo Bruce Banner

Mark Ruffalo is famous for spoiling crucial parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in his latest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fallon actually hooks the actor up to a lie detector machine to test out the truth on potential Avengers: Endgame spoilers.

Unsurprisingly, the results are hilarious, with Fallon asking Ruffalo if the Hulk is a Skrull in the wake of the shape-shifters appearing in Captain Marvel. Ruffalo avoids answering this, although the machine's needle starts moving in a way that would otherwise indicate that he's lying.

He also ducks questions about the relationship status of Bruce Banner and Black Widow. When he claims that there are no secrets in the original Endgame trailer, the machine indicates that statement isn't accurate, which will surely have fans digging back into that trailer for a deeper look. The light-hearted "interview" ends with Ruffalo proving that Thanos isn't the only person in the MCU who can make someone disappear with the snap of his fingers.

While these moments are purely played for laughs, it's worth noting that Ruffalo has a history of spilling top secret details previously. Ruffalo also gave away the emotional and status-quo shifting ending of Avengers: Infinity War in an interview with Don Cheadle, although at the time no one took it seriously. Since his jokes ended up proving revelatory in hindsight, his lie detector session with Fallon could ultimately end up being revealing too.
