Mark Ruffalo will bring Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Disney+'s upcoming She-Hulk series.

According to The Illuminerdi, the Avengers: Endgame star has signed onto the series. This appears to be a recent update, with the news surfacing as recently as this past weekend. At the time of writing, details about his role -- including how many episodes he may appear in -- are being kept under wraps.

Considering how closely Bruce Banner is tied to She-Hulk's origin story, it makes a lot of sense for Ruffalo to be involved. In the comics, Bruce's cousin Jennifer Walters was injured and in dire need of a blood transfusion, with no one but Bruce there to help. After he donated some of his radioactive blood to her, she was able to transform into a Hulk-like being who retained her knowledge and personality. She soon took on the name She-Hulk and became a hero in her own right.

Ruffalo was last seen as Hulk in Avengers: Endgame, where he managed to perform a procedure that merged his intellect with the Hulk's strength. He was responsible for using the Infinity Stones to undo Thanos' decimation of the universe. He has appeared in six MCU movies to date.
