Comic book writer Mark Millar has announced the third installment in his Jupiter's Legacy franchise - Jupiter's Requiem.Miller excitedly teased an "IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!" on Twitter. Before too long, the Kick-Ass and Kingsman co-creator shared a photo of his computer screen, revealing he is currently writing the script for Jupiter's Requiem. The Microsoft Word document offers a few other key details regarding the series, namely that it will be ten issues long, with the first issue opening on a scene taking place 50,000 years in the past. Millar followed up the announcement with one more tweet, in which he offered some insight into where exactly Jupiter's Requiem falls in the franchise's timeline. "Jupiter's Circle is in the past. Jupiter's Legacy is in the present. Jupiter's Requiem is in the future," he wrote. At this time, plot and character details have not been revealed, nor does the new series have a release date.

Millar teamed up with comics artist Frank Quitely and colorist/letterer Peter Doherty to create the critically-acclaimed Jupiter's Legacy comic book series. First published in April 2013, Jupiter's Legacy follows the conflict between two generations of superheroes. Millar and artist Wilfredo Torres helmed spinoff/prequel comic titled Jupiter's Circle, which first debuted in 2015.

A television adaptation of Jupiter's Legacy is currently in production at Netflix (despite losing its showrunner.) The series will star Josh Duhamel as Sheldon Sampson/The Utopian, Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson, Leslie Bibb as Grace Sampson/Lady Liberty, Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson, Ben Daniels as Walter Sampson and Matt Lanter as George Hutchence.
