National Trivia Day has come and gone, but with it comes the knowledge that the Rebel pilots blew up the first Death Star in the original Star Wars while wearing shorts.The shorts-wearing Rebel pilots tidbit comes from none other than Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, who revealed the fun fact in a response to a fan on Twitter. "Because of a record heatwave in England when we filmed the original #StarWars, most of the pilots wore only the top-half of their costume, attacking the Death Star wearing shorts. #TrueStory," wrote Hamill in his response.RELATED: YouTubers Create (And Test) A Working Lightsaber - And It's Terrifying

While the Rebel pilots were able to keep their lower halves cool by wearing shorts, Hamill also revealed in a further response that there were constant mop-downs between takes to minimize any appearance of sweat marks on the upper halves of the pilots while filming the iconic sequence.
