Mark Hamill -- who famously voiced the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series -- has offered his thoughts on the newly-released Joker solo film, which sees Joaquin Phoenix step into the role of the Clown Prince of Crime."The [Joker movie] opens today," Hamill wrote on Twitter. "The awesome Joaquin Phoenix, [director] Todd Phillips and [co-writer] Scott Silver brilliantly reimagine the character as never seen before! Two thumbs up from that old-school, comic book version... me."RELATED: Joker Already Broke a Venom Box Office Record

Alongside his brief review of the film, Hamill shared a poster for Joker, a piece of artwork featuring the various characters from Batman: The Animated Series and a photo featuring key members of the '90s cartoon's voice cast. In the photo, Hamill is seen alongside Kevin Conroy (Batman), Arleen Sorkin (Harley Quinn), Richard Moll (Two-Face), Aron Kincaid (Killer Croc), Paul Williams (Penguin) and Diane Pershing (Poison Ivy).

The Animated Series marked Hamill's first time playing the Clown Prince of Crime. However, he has gone on to reprise the role numerous times in various DC Comics-based television shows, feature films and video games. Of course, he is also well known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the iconic Star Wars franchise.
