Actor Mark Hamill has joined director James Mangold in boycotting filming in Georgia in response to the state's recently-passed voting law, SB 202.

The 98-page omnibus bill was passed when Georgia governor Brian Kemp signed the law on March 25. Mangold spoke out against the bill the same day, saying ""I will not direct a film in Georgia." Hamill has since tweeted he's "ABSOLUTELY!" in favor of Mangold's boycott, while at the same time posting his support for the hashtag #NoMoreFilminginGeorgia.

In accordance with SB 202, Georgia citizens over 65, with a disability, in the military or who live overseas cannot apply for a mail-in ballot until eleven weeks prior to an election, as opposed to the previous 180 day period. Similarly, absentee ballots will now be mailed out four weeks before a general election, instead of seven. Other changes introduced by the bill include the elimination of mobile polling sites in Fulton County. Counties must also provide two Saturdays for early voting access, with the following Sundays both optional. However, certain metropolitan countries already offer early voting on all four available weekend days.

A separate rule prevents anyone except poll workers from giving water to voters waiting in line, in addition to stopping anyone from handing out food and water to voters within 150 feet of a polling location, inside a polling building or within 25 feet of voters in line. Future voting runoffs in Georgia will also start "as soon as possible" after a general election and require in-person early voting Monday through Friday prior to the election. This means counties that are unable to complete the first election and prepare for the second in the allotted time may have to skip early weekend voting.

In addition to playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, Hamill is known for being a prolific voice actor, having famously voiced The Joker in several animated DC projects over the decades. He recently lent his vocals to the comic book-turned animated show Invincible as Art Rosenbaum, the character responsible for designing the super-suits worn by heroes like Omni-Man and his son Invincible. Hamill will also voice Skeletor in the upcoming Masters of the Universe: Revelation, a direct continuation of the 1980s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series created by Kevin Smith.
