When most people think of the legacy Mark Hamill has left on entertainment, they immediately think of Star Wars. It's hard to blame them since it is one of the biggest film franchises and even harder to ignore his role as Luke Skywalker. Often his role in Star Wars overshadows his other noteworthy performances.

Particularly, his work in animation. People tend to overlook Hamill's history as a voice actor and the numerous characters he has voiced over the years. From beloved side characters to vicious villains, Hamill has shown his range and played a variety of roles most people aren't aware of. Out of all of them, these are the ten best Mark Hamill voice acting roles.

10 Abraham Kane

If you're going to have a series about a dystopian world with an emphasis on cars, you need a zealous leader to serve as the antagonist. Mark Hamill delivers that with businessman Abraham Kane. When he isn't plotting to destroy Motor City and crush his opposition, Kane puts on a friendly face for the public.

Hamill does an excellent job of switching from friendly CEO to devious scoundrel. There are moments where Hamill can make the audience forget for a moment all the horrendous atrocities Kane has committed. It's a solid performance for a solid villain.

9 The Spectre

In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Hamill guest stars in the episode "Chill of the Night" as the Spectre. In it, he and the Phantom Stranger wager on whether Batman will or won't kill the man who shot his parents.

Hamill does an excellent work providing a menacing voice for the Spectre that can be best described as haunting and merciless. He portrays the character perfectly careful not to make him sound malicious and evil. He states his case in a matter-of-fact way, all so that he can dish out vengeance.

8 Skips

Among the cast of wacky characters, there's nobody more reliable in Regular Show than Skips. A groundskeeper at the local park, Skips serves as the straight man to Mordecai and Rigby's antics and has to help them clean up the messes they make.

The gravelly voice Hamill provides fits Skip's stoic, no-nonsense nature and hints at the exhaustion from all the burdens he carries. Even in the most ridiculous scenarios, which in this show's case is pretty much all of them, he can make conflict sound devastating. It must have been hell on his vocal cords but well worth it.

7 Larry 3000

Time Squad was one of Cartoon Network's less memorable programs at the start of the 21st century. Starring a crew of characters who go back in time to correct historical events, Mark Hamill served as the robot Larry 3000.

Hamill provides one of his most whimsical characters with Larry as he tries to keep his teammates under control. What makes his role so enjoyable is the passive-aggressive attitude he puts into the role, showcasing just how frustrated the robot is, having to babysit his friends Tuck and Otto. A shortlived show with an everlasting performance.

6 Chucky

In 2019, Child's Play got an interesting reboot that took the story in a brand new direction. Instead of Chucky being a deranged serial killer's soul being trapped in a doll, this Chucky is an actual doll with advanced AI that was tampered with by a disgruntled employee. Not only that, but Chucky received a new voice actor in the form of Mark Hamill.

While this Chucky is a stark contrast to the original, Hamill's soft tone makes him a compelling voice for the doll that shows off his range. He gives Chucky a level of pathos never before seen, as the film shows Chucky gets twisted by his environment and his growing desire to please his "best friend." By the end, viewers are guaranteed to either sympathize with Chucky or be terrified.

5 Captain Stickybeard

Anyone who grew up in the 2000s watching Cartoon Network should be familiar with Codename: Kids Next Door. Fans of the show no doubt remember the recurring villain Stickybeard, a candy-loving pirate that robs kids of their sweets with his crew.

What might come as a surprise is that he was voiced by none other than Mark Hamill. As ridiculous as the character is, Hamill gives it his all with this pirate caricature and sounds like he is having a blast. If Galactic Kids Next Door ever gets made, we might get to see a return of the candy-seeking captain.

4 Master Eraqus

Master Eraqus in Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts sports an impressive cast including Disney alumni like James Woods and Kathryn Beaumont to reprise their roles. They've also invited stars to voice original, anime-centric characters, such as Mark Hamill as the voice of Master Eraqus in Birth By Sleep.

As the mentor and father figure to the game's protagonists, he does his best to prevent them from succumbing to the darkness by any means necessary. The emotion in his voice feels genuine, whether it is concern for his students, anger at their defiance, or regret in attacking them. A heartfelt performance for a character-driven to protect hearts.

3 Colonel Muska

Anyone aware of the debate between subs vs dubs knows the issues that come with dubbing anime. Try as they might, some dubs just don't do the original justice. That's not the case with Castle in the Skyhowever, as Hamill gives a stellar performance as Colonel Muska.

For as sinister and greedy as Muska is, Hamill provides an air of dignity and refinement making his justifications sound rational. His growing obsession with finding Lapuda is creeping and shows with his casual disregard for life and growing anger at the meddling children.

2 Fire Lord Ozai

Ozai, Avatar the Last Airbender

With more people checking out Avatar: The Last Airbender, more people are learning about the menacing figure that is Fire Lord Ozai. Since his introduction, he was shrouded in mystery despite behing a man whose actions have left scars all across the world and his son.

It shouldn't come as a surprise, then, that he would be voiced by a legendary voice actor known for his sinister voices. His performance is blood-curling yet subdued, much like Ozai's firebending, hinting at the power he holds and the mercy he lacks. He would be Hamill's greatest villain role if not for one other.

1 Joker

Was there ever any doubt that Joker would be at the top of this list? He manages to balance the wacky nature of the Clown Prince of Crime with his malicious, heartless tendencies as Batman arch-nemesis. He was initially brought on for Batman: The Animated Series, and, since then, he has been brought back to voice Joker repeatedly. Along with Joaquin Phoenix or Heath Ledger, he's considered one of the best Joker's. His outrageous cackle alone has cemented him as the perfect Joker.
