Margot Robbie is a busy woman. In Suicide Squad, she played the villainess everyone loves to hate, Harley Quinn. Her success in the role snowballed into two potential spinoffs, one that would see her join the Gotham City Sirens crew and another that would have her team with the Joker. And that’s to say nothing of the concrete comic book projects she’s working on, like a Suicide Squad sequel. Now, though, it seems that Robbie has confirmed she’s working on a solo Harley Quinn movie that is “totally separate” from the aforementioned films.

The announcement, relayed by MTV, doesn’t come completely out of the blue. Back in September, it was confirmed that Robbie would be executive producing a Harley Quinn movie, but many assumed that film would be the rumored Harley and Joker team-up romp. Talk about Gotham City Sirens and Suicide Squad 2 was also making the rounds at the time, making the exact nature of Robbie’s producing credit an elusive one. In August, she even said she was pushing for the Harley/Joker movie to get made, which we now know is a separate project.

Now, though, Robbie has confirmed she’s working on the Harley solo film that would pit her Clown Princess of Crime against the world, alone. Or, maybe not. In the interview, Robbie is adamant that a proper Harley Quinn movie needs a team, people for Harley to play off. While that sounds close to Gotham City Sirens, hopefully Robbie has some big plans -- and supervillain names -- in store for Harley’s solo venture.

The next film Robbie’s Harley Quinn will appear in is Suicide Squad 2. Directed by Gavin O’Connor, Suicide Squad 2 is currently slated for a 2019 opening. Little else is known about the project at the moment.
