WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Marauders #6 by Gerry Duggan, Matteo Lolli, Mario del Pennino and Erick Arciniega, on sale Wednesday, Jan. 22.

With all the recent changes to Marvel's X-Men franchise, they were bound to pick up a host of new enemies. Charles Xavier made a mental announcement to the entire world that mutants would no longer allow themselves to be treated as outcasts or a minority. From now on, mutants would set up a new society on Krakoa, with the island nation sitting on equal ground as Latveria and Wakanda.

A move of this magnitude placed an enormous bullseye on mutants, and we've already seen the ramifications in the first issue of X-Force. A strike team stormed the island and successfully assassinated Charles Xavier. Though the X-Men were able to resurrect their leader, the attack is a perfect example of the type of dangers that await them.

X-Cutioner and the Hate-Monger, two long-absent X-Men villains, have returned to pose the newest threat to the X-Men in Marauders #5. The duo appears to be hired mercenaries for Homines Verendi, the renamed Hellfire Club run by human children. The anti-mutant villains already have the drop on the X-Men, but a preview of Marauders #6 reveals a third member of their attack party: Yellowjack.

Corey Stoll portrayed Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for 2015's Ant-Man. Cross became obsessed with Pym Particles, eventually taking control of Pym Technology from Hank Pym to create his own shrinking suit similar to Ant-Man. Darren Cross reappeared in Astonishing Ant-Man to fight the titular hero and his daughter Cassie Lang, now going by the moniker Stinger.

Yellowjacket has now joined up with X-Cutioner and Hate-Monger, secretly inserting himself inside Pyro when X-Cutioner stabs Pyro with his bo staff. Yellowjacket finds himself piloting a sub in Pyro's torso before making his way towards the optic nerve. Also, since Yellowjacket had to stay miniature size inside the staff, he isn't immediately aware which X-Man he is inside of.

The X-Men may not currently be a part of the MCU, but with Disney's acquisition of Fox, it is only a matter of time before the X-Men make an appearance. With the "Infinity Saga" complete, the MCU will begin to set up its next chapter with all-new heroes and villains. Marvel Studios is already working to add Ant-Man 3 to its slate of future films, meaning there is always a possibility that Yellowjacket could return. An even more surprising move would be for Yellowjacket to terrorize an X-Men film in the MCU.
