The upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: The Mandalorian looks to examine the dark underbelly of the Star Wars Universe sometime after the events of Return of the Jedi while adding new characters like Gina Carano's Cara Dune.

The former Rebel Alliance Shock Trooper is the subject of two new official stills released by Entertainment Weekly (more photos are available on their website), showing Dune alongside Pedro Pascal's eponymous bounty hunter both relaxing and in action at what appears to be a remote homestead.

"She’s gone from planet to planet," explained Carano in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "She’s a loner. She’s strong. She runs into the Mandalorian on one of these planets that she’s hiding out on and thinks that he’s there to take her in and then their relationship escalates from there."

The upcoming series will take place on the fringes of the galaxy, with rampant lawlessness following the fall of the Galactic Empire after the apparent death of Emperor Palpatine and destruction of the Imperial armada at the Battle of Endor. Whether Dune can be trusted as she struggles to readapt to civilian life has yet to be seen.
