As the streaming wars intensify and Disney is poised to launch its own premium digital streaming platform with Disney+ next month, the company has spared no expense in making sure its inaugural original series The Mandalorian generates a strong buzz from its debut.

A New York Times report claims that the Star Wars series' premiere episode  -- which will be available with Disney+'s launch on Nov. 12 -- contains a major spoiler that reverberates throughout the entire Star Wars Universe. Of course, with the series debut still weeks away, the report has not disclosed what the exact spoiler is but Disney hopes that big moment right from the series' first episode will get fans talking about the streaming service and the Lucasfilm series.

Set three years after the events of Return of the Jedi, the time period is full of untold history in the new continuity established shortly before the release of The Force Awakens in 2015 as it follows its eponymous bounty hunter on the Outer Rim of the galaxy.

With the Galactic Empire crumbling after its disastrous defeat at the Battle of Endor, the spoiler could involve the nature of Palpatine's return in the following month's The Rise of Skywalker or perhaps offer a look at the final fate of Boba Fett in the new Expanded Universe though Disney has offered no substantial clues as to what the spoiler will entail, leaving fans in anticipation for the next two weeks.
