WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 2, Episode 3, of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, "Chapter 11: The Heiress," streaming now on Disney+.

Bo-Katan Kryze's big namedrop in last week's episode of The Mandalorian has Star Wars fans hyped to finally meet Ahsoka Tano's live-action iteration; however, it's worth remembering that The Mandalorian is a show that's proven it knows how to pace its biggest moments, and there's evidence to suggest that Ahsoka's live-action debut, while imminent, is likely a week away. Even the crew listing for each new episode is part of an overall slow-drip release of information, but Disney+ and Lucasfilm have at least let viewers know who's overseeing the next two episodes, which is why it seems like Ahsoka may not return till the following week.

"Chapter 12," the next episode, will be Carl Weathers' directorial debut for the Star Wars franchise, with Jon Favreau providing the script. Weathers (Greef Karga) is no stranger to directing television, so there's no insult intended in suggesting he won't be the one to unveil Ahsoka Tano in her first appearance since the finale of Star Wars Rebels. However, with Dave Filoni announced to be directing and writing "Chapter 13," it seems more likely that he will be the one to handle the big event.

Ahsoka Tano is a central part of Filoni's contribution to Star Wars, featuring heavily in The Clone Wars and playing a role in Star Wars Rebels. Even some of her original concept art was drawn by Filoni, so it's hard to imagine her existing without his influence. Furthermore, for many new generation fans, it's his animated series' that hooked them, making Ahsoka as central to the history of Star Wars today as Luke and Anakin were for the original and prequel trilogies.

As a visible link from the prequel years to the fall of the Empire, audiences have grown up with Ahsoka. She's been on a long journey that started with her being Anakin Skywalker's irrepressible padawan and saw her grow into a wiser, more confident Force Wielder. Having come to terms with years of disillusionment with the Jedi Order, the Ahsoka seen in the final minutes of Star Wars Rebels evokes Gandalf the White vibes. Having survived her trials, she's finally ready to help others on their own difficult journeys, which fans hope to see in The Mandalorian.

Though it's possible the next episode of The Mandalorian will get closer to Ahsoka, it's likely that will be where the journey pauses for another week. That's sure to bring the momentary frustration and elation that comes with such a cliffhanger, but it's only right that Ahsoka comes home under the eye of the one who created her.

It's worth waiting one more episode to meet an old friend, especially when there's this much potential meaning and emotion to pack into the event. The Child's first glimpse of Ahsoka could change the course of the series in a big way, and it will bring the Force itself back to a series that's only occasionally touched on it through the Child's small hands.

If the Child and Din Djarin have been searching this long, audiences have been waiting even longer. Perhaps Filoni himself has been waiting for the right moment to introduce Ahsoka in a way audiences have never seen before. The Mandalorian hasn't disappointed with its big reveals so far, and there's no reason to start doubting it now. Like all good things, Ahsoka Tano's arrival will be even sweeter with a little patience.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, with guest stars Amy Sedaris, Misty Rosas and Richard Ayoade. Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez.
