The first trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 was released in September 2022 as part of the D23 Expo 2022 fan event and focused on Din Djarin's mission to redeem himself after breaking the rules of his clan by removing his helmet in Season 2. Grogu as well as Djarin's allies Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) also featured prominently in the footage. The trailer also confirmed that the new season would pick up after the events of the spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett, with Djarin being seen piloting the same N-1 starfighter he acquired in that Disney+ show.

Who Is The Mandalorian?

Created by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian is the first live-action Star Wars series, beginning five years after the events of 1983's Return of the Jedi. Pedro Pascal stars as the title character, Din Djarin, a lone bounty hunter who goes on the run to protect Grogu, a force-sensitive child who is colloquially known as "Baby Yoda" by viewers.

The Mandalorian's first two seasons have been positively received by both critics and fans, leading Lucasfilm to develop and release several spinoff series such as The Book of Boba Fett and the upcoming Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew that are set during the same timeframe, with the latter two reportedly set to cross over with The Mandalorian. The company is also in production on The Acolyte, a mystery-thriller series set roughly 100 years before the events of the Star Wars prequel film trilogy. While not much is known about the series beyond that, star Dafne Keen has teased that the Disney+ series will be the first Star Wars project to be told from the Sith's perspective.

Even though Season 3 has yet to premiere, it was recently reported that The Mandalorian Season 4 is already written and poised to begin filming this fall.

The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available to stream on Disney+, with Season 3 premiering on March 1.
