The Mandalorian wasn't included in a new sizzle reel teasing all the content coming to Disney+ in 2022.

Disney+ released a new teaser to promote many of the series and films arriving next year to the streaming service. Major additions are put in the spotlight, like the January release of Eternals after its theatrical debut last month. And shows highlighted during Disney+ Day are also mentioned, like Moon KnightShe-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel. While MCU fans will have plenty to occupy their time next year, Star Wars will also be releasing more content than ever. The Book of Boba Fett, which arrives on Dec. 29, gets teased as new episodes will continue arriving into the new year. Obi-Wan KenobiAndor, and Season 2 of The Bad Batch will also be dropping in 2022. But surprisingly, the video doesn't include a mention of The Mandalorian Season 3.

The first season of The Mandalorian arrived in November 2019 and became a massive hit, helping to kick off Disney's new streaming surface. In October 2020, the second season arrived and led to even more acclaim. But the post-credits scene for the season's finale teased a potential change, with The Book of Boba Fett promising to debut in fall 2021.

The year saw Marvel's TV era launch with a splash on the streamer, with the studio dropping five shows. Star Wars, meanwhile, got its own shot at praise with the first season of The Bat Batch. But while fans were excited for it and to see Boba Fett get his own show, they've also been curious why so little news of The Mandalorian has been released.

Back in October, Carl Weathers confirmed that Season 3 of The Mandalorian was filming, so it's not surprising that it won't be coming out this year. But that's plenty of time for the show to premiere its new season in 2022. That, of course, is still a possibility, and Disney+ likely has plenty of shows and films not included in this new announcement. It's the inclusion of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor that further highlights The Mandalorian's absence, however. After all, many of the confirmed titles don't have exact release dates, so The Mandalorian's third season could have been promoted as simply arriving in the new year.

For now, all of this is speculation until Disney outright confirms when the new season will arrive. Last month, a rumor emerged that Mandalorian Season 3 footage would soon arrive alongside looks at Obi-Wan and Andor. Perhaps when it does, it will come with an answer as to when fans can expect to see Din Djarin again.
