WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Mandalorian, "Chapter 11: The Heiress," streaming now on Disney+.

We've known since May that Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actor Katee Sackhoff would reprise her role as Bo-Katan Kryze for The Mandalorian Season 2. It was only a matter of when, exactly, and what role she might play in Din Djarin's quest to reunite The Child with his own kind, the Jedi. Lucky for the bounty hunter, Bo-Katan arrived this week, just in time to rescue him, and point him in the direction of, yes, Ahsoka Tano.

In "Chapter 11: The Heiress," a reference to Bo-Katan as the rightful ruler of Mandalore, Mando (Pedro Pascal) fulfills his promise to bring Frog Lady to the estuary moon of Trask. He promptly falls in with Quarren fishermen, who then attempt to feed the bounty hunter and The Child to a mamacore, in hopes of making off with the beskar armor. Forever in need of saving, Din Djarin finds it this time in Bo-Katan and her two Mandalorian companions.

Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan on The Mandalorian

Beyond the obvious fan service, the introduction of Bo-Katan sheds a little more light on the schism within Mandalorian culture when she and her allies remove their helmets. Din demands to know where they acquired their armor, implying they aren't actual Mandalorians, only to be set straight by Bo-Katan, who identifies him as "a Child of the Watch" -- that is, Death Watch, which she describes as "a cult of religious zealots that broke away from Mandalorian society. Their goal is to re-establish the ancient way." That's new information for Din Djarin, who insists, "There is only one way: The way of the Mandalore."

Although Din initially rebuffs these so-called Madalorians, he changes his mind when they arrive to his rescue (again), and Bo-Katan offers a a deal. A black market port, Trask is a departure point for weapons shipments to remnant Imperial forces, which Bo-Katan hijacks as part of a plan to take back her home world. If the bounty hunter will help to seize an Imperial freighter loaded with weapons, Bo-Katan will lead him to a Jedi.

Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian Season 2

Of course, this being The Mandalorian, nothing goes quite as planned. However, in the end, Bo-Katan gets her weapons shipment, and questions the freighter's commander (Titus Welliver of Deadwood and Lost fame) about the Darksaber and the whereabouts of Moff Gideon. That certainly suggests a larger role for Bo-Katan in Season 2.

Despite her willingness to alter her agreement with Din Djarin on the fly, Bo-Katan is ultimately as good as her word, and provides the location of a Jedi. Or make that a former Jedi: Ahsoka Tano is in the city of Caloden, on the forest planet Corvus.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, with guest stars Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez.
