Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have explained what kind of story arcs fans can expect in the second season of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

"The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world," Favreau told EW. "The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show." He also noted Season 2 will center on characters aside from the titular Mandalorian, Din Djarin.

"Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher," Filoni added. "But also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy."

"As we introduce other characters, there are opportunities to follow different storylines," Favreau continued. "The world was really captivated by Game of Thrones and how that evolved as the characters followed different storylines — that's very appealing to me as an audience member."

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi and Emily Swallow. Season 1 is available now on Disney+, with Season 2 premiering Oct. 30.
