Fans may have been grossed out by Koska Reeves' meal in Chapter 11 of The Mandalorian, but rest assured -- she didn't actually eat an octopus.

Mercedes Varnado, the actor that plays Reeves in The Mandalorian, revealed that she wasn't slurping a live marine animal but rather a long udon noodle to create the same effect. "Koska was slurping an octopus. So delicious," Varnado told THR. "My favorite movie of all time is Oldboy, and there's a scene in that movie where Dae-su slurps an octopus. So when they told me, I was like, 'Oh my god, is it going to be real?' but they told me it wasn't. So I was down to do it if they wanted me to, but it was a big and long udon noodle that I had to slurp."

Varnado, known by WWE fans as Sasha Banks, joined the cast of The Mandalorian in Season 2, Episode 3. During the episode, Din Djarin runs into the Nite Owls, an elite Mandalorian unit headed by Bo-Katan Kryze. Reeves serves as the right-hand woman to Bo-Katan and ultimately helps save Grogu. Afterward, the Nite Owls ask if they can buy Mando a drink and the band of Mandalorians meet up at the cantina to discuss their plans to loot a Gozanti-class cruiser on the moon of Trask. It's during this scene at the cantina that Reeves slurps down her octopus-like dinner.

The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. New episodes arrive Fridays on Disney+.
