Star Wars: The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal posted an adorably heartwarming message to his sister, Lux Pascal, on Instagram in honor of Lux's cover debut on the Chilean magazine, Revista Ya.

In the magazine, Pascal came out as a trans woman for the first time publicly. She had earlier told her family that she was non-binary, but realized that “Moving through the world as a woman is much more simple for me. But I still advocate for non-binary identities to have a space in society."

Pascal, a 28-year-old actor like her older brother, Pedro (she is currently studying acting at Julliard), talked about the importance of public trans voices, "We need trans activists who are good, smart, informed and who can be strong voices against transphobia, homophobia and racism. I have had a certain form of privilege because I have been able to make my transition hidden and with support. LGBTQ+ equality movement has been led by the most marginalized of voices, those who at the end of the day, had nothing to lose because they had already been deprived everything. I have been very fortunate.”

Pascal continued to note, “I feel that many will say that I am appropriating the discourse of unprivileged trans women, trans sex workers or trans people who do not have the money or the help to buy their hormones or transition as they want. But I have a connection with them. I call them sisters because I feel them like that,”

Her brother, Pedro, shared his sister's cover on his Instagram, adding, "“my sister, my heart, our Lux.”

Pascal also specifically credited her brother's role in her journey, saying that he "has been an important part of this. He’s also an artist and has served as a guide for me. He was one of the first people to gift me the tools that started shaping my identity.” She explained that when she first came out to her brother, he “asked me how I felt because I remember he was a little worried”. After that, though, he told her, “Perfect, this is incredible.”

Lux Pascal has appeared on the Chilean television show Los 80, as well as La Jauría on Amazong Prime and she has appeared on her brother's Netflix series, Narcos.
