After today's announcement confirming the cast for the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, star Pedro Pascal has shared concept art of his character online.

After weeks of rumors and reports, Pascal was confirmed to star as the eponymous gunslinger. With his casting public, Pascal posted original concept sketches of his character by longtime Star Wars animation director and executive producer Dave Filoni on his Instagram account.

Seen in the familiar armor and helmet as fellow Mandalorians Jango and Boba Fett, the character designs show also have the new character wearing a ragged poncho like a classic Western hero.

Pascal had first reportedly been linked to the title role last month before his casting was finalized. Filoni has been working with LucasFilm since 2008, developing Star Wars: The Clone Wars as well as subsequent animated series Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Resistance. Filoni serves as a director and executive producer on The Mandalorian.
