Star Wars legend Mark Hamill discussed Boba Fett's upcoming role in The Mandalorian Season 2 and admitted even he doesn't understand how the famed Bounty Hunter will return.

The latest rumors suggest Star Wars: Attack of the Clones star Temuera Morrison will suit up in Beskar to play Boba Fett again in the second season of Jon Favreau's Disney+ series. With Fett seemingly dying in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, there are obvious questions about how he'll be back.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Hamill referenced Fett being swallowed by the Sarlacc and joked, "I thought he was a decade into getting digested at this point." That being said, he added, "There's so many ways they can go and Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are both the right people for the job. They know it better than I do."

The Mandalorian is set five years after Fett's "death" in Return of The Jedi., meaning there's still plenty of room for the writers to either come up with their own backstory for how he survived or pull directly from the previous Star Wars Extended Universe. Although Star Wars Legends featured Fett escaping from the Great Putt of Carkoon through the use of his concussion grenades, it was rendered non-canon when Disney purchased the franchise. However, over the years, various other Legends plot points have made their way back into established canon, such as Darth Maul surviving Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Favreau previously shot down the idea of Fett appearing in The Mandalorian Season 1, but that didn't stop viewers looking for him at every turn. Even though Fett didn't directly pop up, there were various theories about him appearing in the background and whether he was the mysterious spur-wearing character who stood over Fennec Shand in "Chapter 5: The Gunslinger." How Fett will play into Season 2 remains to be seen, but there are reports he'll have an even larger part in Season 3.

Fett joins an ever-expanding roster of familiar Star Wars faces that will make their Mandalorian debut in Season 2. Alongside the stoic bounty hunter, Rosario Dawson is tipped to appear as Ahsoka Tano and Katee Sackhoff will reportedly reprise her Star Wars: The Clone Wars role as Bo-Katan Kryze. Michael Biehn will also join the returning cast members from Season 1. However, with Hamill saying he's done playing Luke Skywalker after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, don't expect to see the all-powerful Jedi join Boba Fett in The Mandalorian.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Season 1 is available now on Disney+, with Season 2 premiering in October.
