Actor Giancarlo Esposito plays the villain Moff Gideon in Star Wars: The Mandalorian. Fans immediately embraced his performance as the single-minded, threatening character, but now his skills at being menacing are really being put to the test.

On College Humor's game show Game Changer, Esposito recited the most innocuous sequence that most people can imagine: the alphabet. However, each letter came out with a surprisingly chilling sound.

In the episode, titled "Ham It Up", contestants were "given the ultimate acting challenge by host Sam Reich - perform some genuinely terrible dialogue as best they can...in competition with Emmy award-winning actor, Giancarlo Esposito."

Esposito's credentials as a villain go back further than Moff Gideon's terrifying reputation. He was first known as drug kingpin Gus Fring in AMC's Breaking Bad, and he also played a baddie in Far Cry 6.

One way or another, it now seems a proven fact that the Emmy-nominated Esposito can make just about anything sound scary.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. New episodes arrive Fridays on Disney+.
