A number of characters from The Mandalorian may make the jump to Batuu, better known as the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction at Disney theme parks.

The latest episode of the Disney Dish podcast claims numerous old and new Star Wars characters will debut at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. The titular Mandalorian, Din Djarin, along with Grogu, better known as Baby Yoda, are reportedly scheduled to join the pantheon of the theme park attraction. They'll be joined by fan-favorite Boba Fett, who made his triumphant return on Season 2 of the Disney+ series, and Bo-Katan, a fellow Mandalorian who transitioned from the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels to the live-action show. Finally, Kylo Ren's ship will supposedly be swapped out for the Razorcrest, Mando's former ship.

Galaxy's Edge opened in May 2019 in California and August of the same year in Florida in each of Disney's respective amusement parks. Allowing visitors the chance to explore Batuu, a new corner of the galaxy designed specifically for the parks, the twin attractions have won over fans lucky enough to attend thanks to their immersive dive into the world of Star Wars. The onset of COVID-19 in the U.S. in the spring of 2020, however, halted the expansion of Galaxy's Edge and attendance to the destination.

Disney has made a few attempts to bring the magic into people's homes since the shutdown of the parks. A Galaxy's Edge book brought readers into the world of the attractions, while a Star Wars VR experience let fans feel as if they were there.

Since its debut in late 2019, The Mandalorian has also won over audiences from inside and outside of Star Wars fandom. Grogu and Din Djarin have quickly become two of the franchise's most popular characters, both edging out Darth Vader himself. Grogu, meanwhile, quickly became one of 2020's breakout stars, with everything from memes to merchandise flooding pop culture, aided by the character's return in the second season of the hit show in November of last year. While the Season 2 finale saw the young Force-user leave with Luke Skywalker, The Mandalorian will return in December.
