Many titans of pop culture have been featured as balloons during Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Pikachu and Hello Kitty. This year, Grogu (aka Baby Yoda or The Child) of Star Wars: The Mandalorian will join their ranks.

Lucasfilm is collaborating with Funko, Inc. to create a Funko Pop!-inspired balloon in the shape of Baby Yoda, which will feature in the upcoming Thanksgiving Day Parade. The balloon will measure 41 feet high, 29 feet long and 37 feet wide, and based on currently available images, will depict Grogu chasing his favorite silver ball.

It appears everyone involved with its production and the parade itself is excited about the Baby Yoda balloon. "Funko is ecstatic to bring the Funko Pop! version of the character as a Grogu-themed balloon to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade," Funko's chief executive officer Brian Mariotti explained. "Connecting one of pop culture's most recognizable characters from one of the biggest entertainment brands in the world with one of our nation's most beloved holiday traditions is truly a moment in pop culture history that will be remembered by Funko fans and millions of other viewers."

"The giant balloons in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade have always reflected the very best of pop culture and there is no better example of that than Grogu who has become an instant global sensation," Will Coss, the executive producer for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, stated. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Funko and Lucasfilm on this Funko Pop! version of the beloved character that is sure to delight legions of Star Wars galaxy fans.”

Moreover, Funko is developing other products than just the Grogu-balloon in its collaboration with Lucasfilm; it is also creating sweatshirts, t-shirts, keychains and many different bobbleheads. This limited edition product line will be available for sale only on Funko.com; however, Macy's will have select items from the line available for purchase at Macy's Herald Square this fall, including the Funko Pop! version of the balloon itself.

"Grogu has become a global phenomenon, captivating fans of all ages with his charm, humor and loyalty, as seen in The Mandalorian on Disney+," said Lucasfilm's senior vice president of franchising and licensing Paul Southern elaborated. "This fall, fans will be able to see Grogu reimagined in a size befitting his impact in the Star Wars galaxy and pop culture, as well as enjoy a new sampling of Grogu-inspired products in celebration of this momentous occasion."

Baby Yoda has become a merchandising juggernaut and this balloon isn't the only recent example of the character showing up as a product; earlier this year, Farm Rich released cheesy potato tots in the shape of his head and FUN.com released sneakers inspired by Grogu.

The Mandalorian is available to stream on Disney+, and the 95th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place on Nov. 25.
