Although Season 2 of Disney+’s The Mandalorian is just around the corner, one fan could not wait for Baby Yoda's adventure to begin again.

With the array of finely detailed, feature-packed action figures available today, some fans find it disappointing when the toymakers still overlook some of the most sought-after features, like making a Baby Yoda pod that can actually fly. This is where The Mandalorian super-fan and aerospace engineer Adam Woodworth steps in.

Starting with a figure of Baby Yoda taken from Hasbro’s 6-inch Black Series and using a figure of The Child’s floating pod found in Hasbro’s Mission Fleet line, Woodworth recreated the pod in foam, which he used to map out the placement of all the components; four motors, flight control circuitry and a rechargeable battery, all repurposed from a child’s palm-sized flying quadcopter toy. To keep the propellers from being too visible on the outside of the pod, he fixed them in significantly overlapping positions, with just millimeters of clearance between them, and slightly angled each of the motors to improve the craft's stability.

Once the placement of the components was decided, Woodworth created a plastic polycarbonate version that could be loaded with the electronics and small figure, while still retaining the ability to fly. A major drawback of working with the cheap parts from the toy quadcopter was that the components could not be reprogrammed to adjust flight performance. This led Woodworth to reposition the motors and test various-sized propellers to discover which combination would create the desired maneuverability.

This isn’t Adam’s first home build. Diving into his YouTube channel, you can find a myriad of flying projects, from a Micro RC Batwing to The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest ship. While some of these builds are quite simple, this one seems to have been considerably more challenging.

As the video shows, recreating your favorite Baby Yoda/Mandalorian scenes may be a little difficult, as keeping such a tiny RC vehicle at a steady hover is no small feat. Din Djarin had better brush up on his jetpack skills for Season 2 if Woodworth’s pod is anywhere in sight.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi and Emily Swallow. Season 1 is available now on Disney+, with Season 2 premiering Oct. 30.
