WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 5, "Chapter 13: The Jedi," streaming now on Disney+.

Throughout the Star Wars franchise, the fights that fans want to see the most usually come to pass. Whether it's Luke and Vader or Yoda against Palpatine, at one point or another, the franchise has a way of delivering the matchups that fans clamor after. So, when it turned out that Ahsoka Tano was bound for The Mandalorian, a head-on collision between the fierce warriors was inevitable. However, when the conflict came, it was too brief and indecisive, leaving fans to wonder which of the two would win a real duel.

When Ahsoka showed up in The Mandalorian, it was clear she had come a long way since The Clone Wars. In the opening of the episode, she even takes down an entire squadron of soldiers and looks almost unstoppable. Clearly, the Magistrate thought the same, seeing the arrival of Din Djarin as an opportunity to use the deadly bounty hunter's skill to its utmost limits. She attempted to hire the Mandalorian to hunt Ahsoka down, but when the two finally crossed paths, that's not exactly the way things ended up.

A whole lot of excitement came packed in Mando and Ahsoka's brief scuffle, and for those who really want to know who would win between them, it's worth looking at just how that scuffle went down.

Though the scene starts with the Mandalorian hunting down Ahsoka, she isn't just anyone. She gets the jump on the Mandalorian, who only narrowly manages to block her twin lightsabers with his beskar steel gauntlets. The steel holds up to the lightsabers, a rare feat in Star Wars, and Djarin defaults to the usual Mandalorian strategy of establishing his range and leveraging his versatile weapons against the Jedi. He fires his flamethrower and then coils Ahsoka in a whipcord. When she manages to turn the tables and string him up, Djarin quickly cuts himself loose and draws a weapon on her to end the fight.

Though fans are well owed a rematch, they are unlikely to get one considering how quickly the two come to be on friendly terms. In a fair fight it would be notable that the Mandalorian would not hesitate to fire on Ahsoka as he did before calling an end to the fight, but it would be just as sure that Ahsoka could deflect the blaster fire as she did countless times throughout The Clone Wars and Rebels. The real mystery comes down to what Ahsoka could do once she closed the gap between herself and her opponent.

The Mandalorian Chapter 13: The Jedi

In a fight without the story involved, it's likely that the Mandalorian's armor could only block so much. While beskar may be impervious to Ahsoka's lightsabers, the gaps between its plates are not. Attack of the Clones showed just how vulnerable those joints could be when Mace Windu beheaded Jango Fett with one sweep of his lightsaber, and considering that Ahsoka dual-wields, it seems likely she could get in the critical shot that she needs.

The real kicker to the fight comes when considering that Ahsoka did not actually wield the Force in her scrap with the Mandalorian, and this telekinetic edge allows her to remain effective even at range would be considerable. Djarin may be the deadliest bounty hunter in the Galaxy and his armor is perfect for keeping back barrages of blaster fire, but against a Jedi as skilled and capable as Ahsoka, fans would need to see a whole lot more from him to believe he'd stand a chance.
